Pulsing may be the key. IMO, I have never thought that Borrelia or even Babesia are hard to kill. If the antibiotic can get to them, it can kill them. I believe this is why not very much resistance has developed to the antibiotics that treat them. The problem lies with getting the antibiotic to them. For Borrelia, it's blebs, persistor cells, L-forms, cysts, whatever you want to call them. For Babesia, it's in-habitation of the extracellular matrix and the blood flow is so low that they live unabated. You know two of my worst herxes I've ever had. In February when my Dad died and this past Father's Day. Both were very emotional days for me and the increased emotions increased blood flow to the extracellular matrix. I'm not sure we can cure whatever I have if I don't increase blood flow to these areas. Sprinting does it, jogging does not.

In the book 'cure unknown' this is how the doctor got rid of his symptoms.... He took abx till he was much better, then he stopped them and let himself get pretty bad...then restarted the abx...

I believe he did this 3 times..... And I think this is what Pamela Weintraub (the author of the book) did also.....it's been awhile since I read the book...... But I don't remember them talking about bart, so who knows what you do with THAT ! Ugh

So, somehow we need to shock the bacteria...I also remember reading about a lady who thought she was healed, went on vacation and the change in routine brought all her symptoms roaring back... I thought that was interesting.

Maybe we all need to become race car drivers or something... Imagine!

I wonder if LLMD's will take these studies into consideration for a long-term pulsing. We need improved treatment strategies.

I think pulsed antibiotics won't make much difference if the person doesn't address the other bacteria causing problems in their system. Borrelia is like the straw the broke the camel's back. Getting rid of it won't "cure" the person. It's a great start, but other pathogens contribute to what is going wrong. If you study the effects that urease from other bacteria can have on the body and combine that with the increased urokinase production from having borrelia, you can see there is more than just one problem. Borrelia can be a problem, but there are many others.

Oh my God! I am so happy.There's a lot of places saying he was a basket case and died.
Just one example from a site I won't mention.

"No, he really did come down with Alzheimer's, or whatever the exact neurological diagnosis is. And, no, as far as I could find out, he hasn't been treated for LD. It sounds as if his mind was so affected, he wasn't able to be open to this.

This is heart-breaking. He did such brilliant work, was so devoted to the work, and was a delightful person to boot! And it seems likely that he got this from his research with Alzheimer's brains---or from living in Long Island. Really sad, and a cautionary tale."
