Where to get Igenex blood drawn

All the labs I've called (Labcorps, Quest, etc) say they have their own western blot tests and will not drawn blood for Igenex and my doc won't do it at the office. Any ideas of where i can go in Connecticut for this?

Got any free clinics in your area? I managed to get one done at the one here in town, a couple years ago.

Though, when I think about it, it might have just been an incredible stroke of luck though, I guess. I was just like, yeah, would you guys be willing to draw some blood and send it off to this independent lab for me, then get the results?

Yeah, after my relative and I explained it, it was pretty easy.

Who knows, maybe they'll be just as lax there, if you got one?

Livinginct - do you have any labs that you can pay for the test? I'm not familiar with the U.S. health care, but here in Canada, I went to a lab that charges - called Lifelabs - don't know if they are in the U.S.

The lab at our hospital wouldn't do it.

Hi Girlie, all the labs are private and want you to use their own western blot tests. Even the main hospitals I called said they would do the blood draw but only if they were doing the tests themselves, not sending to an independent lab.
Frustrating.

I had my Igenex test drawn at a lab called "Anylabcan", look up online to see if one is in your area. They didn't charge for the draw and their Dr signed for the results.

I would get a list of LLMDs in your area and see if any take your insurance. That's what I did to get my blood drawn for IGeneX. You can make a post here or call ILADS or email the mods on here to get some names. If that doesn't pan out I know one in Bridgeport that isn't a fortune that will do it.

Whattttt! That is ridiculous. I work at a lab and we draw all patients even if they have their own kits for different labs. We don't charge; we call it kindness draws.

We are a non-profit christian hospital.

Do you have to have other bloodwork done? If so, they can draw your igenex at the same time, then you can take your own fedex bag to the mailing center yourself.

Thanks everyone for your posts! I was able to get an appt with a LLND in two weeks, so I'll ask them where I should go for the tests, since I still haven't had any luck with labs around here (Connecticut).
