I've know for a long time that I have difficulty with balance and with depth perception. Like probably 10 years. Walking down a hallway and clipping a wall by 2 or 3 inches makes it obvious.
I think Target lays a cement pad first then puts the floor down on top. Cement is never flat, so for some reason our feet aren't able correct for the variations. I think that's why for me its a studder step. It became obvious one day when I crashed into a set of shelves.
Now my son hates Target. He always asks me if I'm going to be ok. That reminds me to exaggerate my steps. I'm ok if I exaggerate my steps.
Today I was taking my son to the dentist. My husband is on travel. So here we are at the dentist with both knees bleeding. Both hands in pain and after yesterday, I just burst out into tears. Two moms took pity on me and got me something to clean out my knees, but the real issue is my left hand.
Since my husband is on travel, my son won't let me take him to the craft store to make a costume. I can't ask him to take me to the ER. Usually, i just sprain things. So right now, I'm going to ice it then reassess tomorrow.
It's been a tough week and some times you can't share this with family because they feel guilty.
Thanks for your support,
Kim
