Jimmy Fallon's sidekick - Higgins - Lyme disease?

I was watching a Jimmy Fallon show yesterday - I think it was from a few days ago...and Higgins just matter-of factly said while they were on their break (Jimmy injured his finger and had surgery and spent time in the hospital).... he had a fever of 105 and went to the hospital...then he went on to say that he said to his wife that they won't test him for lyme disease...and she said "Oh, they're gonna test you"...so they did and he has it...and he said something about being prescribed an Anthrax medication...and went home to bed for 10 days.

It was very strange - it was like no big deal...

I looked up Anthrax medications - and in the list was doxy, Cipro, and levaquin.

Anyone else see that?

If he truly does have lyme disease, hopefully someone watching who knows him and knows about lyme treatment will talk to him...that 10 days isn't enough...

Yea I watched that too last night and he kind of just laughed it off when he was telling everyone about it like it was no big deal. At first I wasn't sure if he was joking or not from how he was talking about it, especially when he said they put him on anthrax medication.

Yeah that's crazy I saw that everyone's getting Lyme two kids I went to high school with also have it now I reached out to them and told them about my LLMD and as much crap as I know cuz this crap is no joke

Well dayumm....its crazy they are just laughing away...if only they knew the HALF of "Lyme Disease".

I hope the poor man is gonna be okay but realistically we here all know how it goes.....Esp since he is already symptomatic...10 days will def not suffice.

On the tonight shows website you can actually send comments or suggestions. I just sent them a suggestion about Higgins and his lyme disease. about the lack of antibiotics and how he just brushed it off his shoulders. I just said it's a very serious and complicated disease and that he should get some more information on his disease from an LLMD.

Will he get it, I have no idea, but it's worth a shot

After posting on here earlier, I found Steve on FB and sent him a private message. I noticed there were a couple other comments regarding lyme on the side of page already too.

So one way or another, hopefully he gets something from someone and gets more treatment!

I was shocked that Higgins has Lyme, I watch every episode of the Tonight Show. I sure hope he gets better and he is so lucky to have gotten a fever and gotten treatment right away. I think some people do get better fast if they get the antibiotics in them right away, right? That is great that people are contacting him telling him more information about Lyme in case he doesn't know much bout it.

Also he was laughing off the Lyme disease because he is a comedian. Jimmy also almost ripped his finger off and was in ICU for ten days and laughed about it. He might know how serious it is because it seems his wife knows about Lyme.

I saw the same episode. It's nice that people are concerned about Higgins but he didn't explain every move he made during that time. He was in bed for 10 days. He never said he had 10 days of treatment and then all was well.

He never went into his treatment or regimen etc. He acknowledged that he was diagnosed and had to spend 10 days in bed. I've spent a few mornings in bed and then had to function in my day. The man was also at work. What do you want him to do?
I am sure that since he has the resources to do so, he is getting an education and has top notch care. I don't think we need to worry so much about Higgins. I am sure he's doing just fine.

Hi jkoczan, welcome to our community!

I'm not so sure about getting education and top notch care. He went to ER - and maybe didn't know to see a LLMD. They certainly wouldn't have told him in the ER to see a LLMD.
Just recently Avril Lavigne told her story...she suffered for months before getting help...
