Is the lyme bacteria in my face or is this a side effect of having been on doxy for a month? They are like jagged streaks, 1/8-1/4 inches long and narrow like strands of thread. Mostly around nose and on cheek near the nose. Thanks for any answers.

Sounds like Telangiectasias (spider veins). Google it to see of the images look familiar. Alternatively, it could be the striations that Bartonella creates, but they look more like stretch marks and are not necessarily thin.

My initial reaction when I read your post - was bart.
But, then I read Pirouette's reply...and it could be spider veins, too.

That's interesting. So if it's bacteria it will look more like stretch marks? My LLMD did tell me not to freak out if I saw red lines or circles/patches pop up on my skin. She explained it as the bacteria trying to get away from the abx and moving into the skin (which creeped me out and made me think of an Alien movie) smhair I assumed she meant lyme but is it only barit that will do that?

My first instinct is to think bartonella. Can you take a picture to show your LLMD?

Actually, in some people, the "Bart marks", can look more like spider veins. So don't go by that symptoms alone. Do you have other symptoms of Bartonella?

Posting a picture of it is always the best way to get the most helpful suggestions though.

Traveler's suggestion is best, to post an image if you can. I tend to think spider veins also because of the location, it is very typical to get those veins around the nose and on the cheeks… people who suffer rosacea have them more prominently. They are fairly permanent (they don't come and go like the Bart marks do) but you can have them removed. They basically "kill" the visible part of the capillary/veins. No prob.

But I've also read that Bart can produce all kinds of weird markings so "skinny" stretch marks are not out of the question. I've been experiencing weird marks more like what your LLMD described that are oval-shaped patches or smudges—in numerous places throughout the body. They pop up in a day or two, hang around for months and then fade. They are very strange. Bart is a weird, weird fellow.
