Lyme my whole adult life

Hello everybody
I just wanted to share quickly my experience with Lyme
I live in southern Maine, I'm almost 49 and have been studying wildlife since first grade. I've spent a big chunk of my child hood in the woods walking through brush and thickets and tall grass. Picking off thousands of ticks before graduating high school.
I have always had a horrible long term memory, ADD in school, My junior year I wrestled with a "sprained" knee but had no idea how it happened.

I've had fibromyalgia since high school and at 24(1990) I became bed ridden with symptoms similar to depression but what triggered it was a break up with a girlfriend. I've been in a fog ever since.
I'm guessing that was the point in which that stress allowed the Lyme to kick in full gear.

Yes, this is only educated speculation but I know for a fact that a break up would never affect me that harshly in healthy circumstances. I believe that I could easily have multiple strain Lyme infections and who knows about other infections. I know that symptoms can over lap but I don't seem to have any typical symptoms of the co-infections. My test was negative for Bartonella.

I tried a LLMD but after 6 months she never brought up toxins, detoxing, herxing etcetera and she also told me that it is only a herx after a week of starting the meds. Needless to say, I've had to do this by myself for the last 4 years. Oh yah, I was bitten again about 5 years ago and that is when I became bed ridden with extreme exhaustion, rage, home anxiety, ....

I'm trying to make sense of my childhood and my health failing me at 24 years old. It's been a pretty messed up life, beyond these words, due to what I believe to be is multiple lyme infections.

Can someone please give me an idea if there are similar stories out there and/or just give me your thoughts on this? Thank you very much, Dan

I would love to find a competent doctor that I could trust to take that pressure off of me but I'm not impressed with the ones around here.

That is the office that I was at, I was seeing Dr. Q but very disappointed with the whole group. I mentioned this in another post but after 6 months she never mentioned toxins, herxing, DETOXING, and she liked using abx too much and they didn't work. about that time I started telling her what I wanted to do but at $200 an hour I finally realized that I could try and treat myself and my son and put that money towards the meds themselves.

She put me on Samento and Banderol but that is as far as she went with the herbs, just scratching the surface so I am now looking into a full protocol of herbs and hoping for the best.

Sorry to hear about your babesia, I'm sure that you'll be kicking it's but soon.

That is great candleinthewind, I'm glad you were able to rid yourself of your stressor and find happiness again.

My stressors as of late were my so called friends from my childhood, 4 "friends" don't give me any support what so ever, it's like I never even told them that I'm miserable every single day. I never would have predicted that my friends would have abandoned me like that. And my wife, who has been awesome, have had three friends tell her to leave me for a someone that is healthy. My wife has told them off but how is this world so selfish, it's disgusting!

Just keep taking care of yourself for you are the only one qualified to do so.

I wish that I could put all of my energy towards just getting better but I have to work as well. I started doing major remodeling of homes and was ready to start building house when I got stricken down at 24. I got back into some remodeling, even though in my head I was struggling big time but crashed again with another bite. I should be building homes working 50-60 hours a week, doing my bass fishing tournaments but instead I'm reduced to doing small home improvements, part time. By now I normally would have gone fishing 50 times but I haven't even gone once, it's pathetic. I wish that I could find a job that was less physical.

With this last infection 5 years ago, I've already lost about 2 years worth of work so I'm right there with you with all of the money that I've lost out on the past 25 years. We used up our life savings and now live like 18 year olds. It sucks

My rotator cuffs have killed me since high school I always assumed that it was because of wrestling(without injury) but maybe it is linked to Lyme.
