herbal protocol questions

Hi! do you know or have an idea of what infections you might be dealing with? what are your symptoms?

1. Not sure on this, I think it depends on the case, the strains and infections one is dealing with. I'd hazard a yes though! Traveler got well from herbals, and she was very sick for a long time.

3. Hard to say as everyone responds differently to different combos and meds. I've had to experiment to see which herbals worked for me. I've found some of the nutramedix stuff very effective, samento, banderol, cumanda, houttuynia. Woodlands essence is also a good company and sells things like CSA (cryptolepis, sida acuta, alchornea formula) which is quite versatile. Artemisinin can also be very effective, and liposomal artemisinin is interesting but expensive. If you aren't familiar, Stephen Buhner is a good resource from lyme/coinfections and herbals. Lots of info on his site.

4. Most herbals you can order online, but if you are working with an LLMD they could probably help guide you based on your symptoms and knowledge of your case on which herbals you might be most beneficial for your case. Although not all llmd's are well-versed in herbals. My doc said it was fine for me to do herbals and said some could be very effective but he couldn't really offer me any guidance.

I got my test results back this week, but had done lots of research and have been on the forum for a while asking questions. I was interested in herbals because of the issue with getting abx treatment. I was bound and determined that if this was the answer to my decades long sickness, I was going to get well. In the course of figuring out the testing I came across the idea of TCM and it looked promising.

The way I explained it to my husband was before pharmaceutical companies came into existence, people were treated with herbs. Many modern day meds originated in nature and are just synthesized to mass produce. TCM especially has thousands of years of tradition. If you go to China, a doctor will write a script but it is rarely for pharmaceuticals. My husband travels to China a lot on business so he knows this is true. We have a friend who is an MD who runs clinical trials for one of the University hospitals in the area and my husband knew he has used TCM for allergies so we asked him about it. My husband dropped back into the western way of thinking and asked our friend if I should go to one of the university hospitals. Our friend said Absolutely Not! They would laugh us out of the building with a diagnosis of Lyme.

Traveler is a treasure that we all need to be grateful for. She gives a lot of time and has stuck with the forum to help others. If you notice people's signatures you'll notice almost everyone uses some herbals at a some point. Traveler found her way through this without the benefit of abx, although she has said that if she knew about detox and all the rest at the time abx might have been successful.

I am updating this report to now include the prices and sources for bulk powdered herbs. It turns out to be a lot cheaper to buy some of the herbs in bulk. If you are able to handle the herbs and the way they taste, you can just mix the appropriate amounts in water or some other liquid. I always understood that Samento was a superior form of cats claw and that resveratrol was better than the knotweed???
What about serrapeptase to break down the biofilm in which having it probably my whole life and being on long term abx I believe that I have tons of biofilm?

I have just been graced with copies of Buhner's books about herbal abx- and I find that I agree with him on this, and it's been in my own experiences as well - that the whole herb is better than the extracts. The whole herbs has tons of components to them that work together (synergistically) that both help to make them work better and to help deal with the side effects of using them. Extracts don't provide these benefits, although they do still work.

Samento is an extract of cat's claw, so you won't be using the 'whole herb'.

And as Girlie said, the resveratrol that you want is from Japanese Knotweed.
