Here is a picture before Lyme



Here are a few more. The ones with the beard are from the worst of it a few years ago. The rest of them are showing Bell's Palsy type of stuff and examples of the Neuro attacks i would get, these are from within the last 6 months.

As you will see i really do not look that happy in this pic. Basically you are looking at a picture of a guy that went to hell and had to to stay there for 7 years, a guy that fought no matter how bad or long he had to endure the torture and was able to fight it out and come back to the other side.

I am not unhappy in that pic, i am pissed off about having to go through the torture, and still trying to adjust and wrap my head around all of this.

Also, i am not a Dr, but i would be hesitant in using the CO along with a massive abx or herbal protocol. This could potential cause tremendous die-off and lead to a major Herx.

CO is pretty much a powerful universal abx, as in it hits everything

Again not a Dr, but i have seen too many people improve with CO only, IMHO if you are going to do it i would stop all other treatment (abx+ herbals).

As with all things, not everything works or helps everyone, but we do appreciate your input on this subject.

Cannabis oil does certainly contain some abx attributes, but isn't enough for everyone. I have seen from the posts and articles that I have read that although it can be very helpful for symptoms for many people, it's not completely effective for healing Lyme when used by itself for everyone that uses it.

So, like all protocols, it may or may not work.

I have been using cannabis infused coconut oil for almost a year. My sleep is so much better, I don't have joint pain, and the depression is gone. I am able to exercise but often need a nap in the afternoon. I don't feel that I am in remission, but I am so much better than I was. I was taking a very small amount and I just increased it a few weeks ago and think I wasn't taking enough. I think you are right, Bearded One, you need as much THC as you can tolerate. Bearded One, The supository route is a good option to know about. I really have no idea how many mg I am taking a day. I take 1/4 tsp 3 times a day and 1/2 before bed. I have been doing this dose for a few weeks now (was only taking half of this) and feel my symptoms are lessening. The butter I made has about 17% THC. I tried a high CBD and didn't feel nearly as well.

I haven't passed any parasites with cannabutter, but did pass rope worms with coffee enemas. I've noticed that my stomach is starting to rumble lately. I had no stomach noises since I got sick. I had been taking 2 stool softeners and Restoralax daily to help with the severe constipation I developed. Lately I have been lowering my dose of Restoralax and occasionally skipping days. I've read that it can also help with Hythothyroidism which I definitely have.

I tried Cowden for 8 months but at this time, I am only doing cannabutter, and a few supplements. I still herx with magnesium, folinic acid, xylitol, etc.

A couple of friends with Lyme have just also increased their dose and they are doing much better. They also are taking coconut oil and having major herxes with it.

Thanks for posting of your progress. I passed it along to several others who are doing cannabutter for Lyme. Very encouraging and interesting!

Sounds good.

To figure out what amount of THC/ CBD you are getting per gram, you would need a lab test of the oil once it is made---before making it into something else--ie butter etc etc.

Or are you taking dry herb and making the butter and or oil yourself?


Glad to hear that you are improving as well as your friends. People discount the oil because they read things online or in articles, or from people's experiences that try the online CBD oil, and then they form an opinion and say it doesn't work well.

I highly doubt any of those people are taking enough.

MUST have THC to kill this crap.

I would continue to up your dose a smidge each day, at some point you will hit a wall and have a herx. At this point back down the dose and stay there for a week or so ( build up your tolerance), and then slowly start increasing again until you hit the next wall and repeat etc etc.

A little THC is going to help with symptoms but is not going to kill very much

Impossible to say if that amount of THC will help every single person, as Lyme is extremely complicated, but 90-95% of the people i talk to who take a fair amount are improving..................

I am making the butter from cannabis (not oil), which has the THC measured by Health Canada (15-20%). I use 30 grams to make it but it will last me for about 3 months. I have not tried the oil yet, but now that it is legal in Canada I will be able to try it. So , I guess I would only use about 10 grams of cannabis a month, but it isn't nearly as strong as the oil. Are you in Canada, Bearded One?

Thanks for the vaporizer tip. I do have one, but rarely use it. I just want to sleep when I am high and it doesn't help with the symptoms I have left. My worst symptom now is chest tightness/pressure which I get whenever I herx. All the muscles in my chest/abdominal area tighten up, so that I can feel every beat of my heart. I can't seem to find anything to help with this symptom. As I mentioned, I even get it from trying to take certain supplements.....like magnesium and it seems to take forever to go away. My energy levels are better but I still often need a nap each day after lunch. I have irritated eyes, especially in the morning, some internal shaking, and a creaky/tight neck, and that is what I am dealing with for symptoms. I hope that my increase in dose will help with these remaining symptoms. I am also dealing with mold toxins from the leaky classroom that I taught in. That could be why I have some of the symtoms. Yeah doing it that way ( herb to butter) it would be impossible to determine THC/CBD per gram, plus the oil is so much more concentrated and powerful.

What you are doing now will def help, but IMHO you need the oil to kill.

I will say this my stiff neck is still there and a smidge of brain-fog, but i think that will leave when i ramp up the dose and correct my gut-brain connection as well as my genetic methylation pathways.

I highly suggest you do this as well, as what we perceive to be issues from Lyme can actually be detox/methylation issues as well as gut issues.

I can refer you to the Dr i am using to correct all of that, but he is expensive and does not accept insurance. $250 1 hour initial consult, $250 1 hour follow up, 2 specialty stool tests ( one will be covered by insurance and the other one costs $230. He will want tons of BW pulled, so if you do not have insurance this will not be an option unless you can drop 6k on it.

When Canada approves the oil, try and find oil from the Strain Free Leonard , with oil anything above 550-600mg per gram of THC is good oil.

You want to also make sure they are doing FECO ( Full Extraction Cannabis Oil) to make the oil.

I have had the 23 and me genetic testing done and my LLND had me taking supplements to help with this but they made me worse. He had me taking 1/8 capsule of folinic acid every second day and the herxing was too much. The chest tightness still hasn't settled from this!

Yes, with the exchange rate now, the Dr would be super expensive plus my insurance won't cover anything.

Addressing genetic mutations has to be done in a certain order otherwise all hell can break loose, not sure if your ND did it correctly or not.

There is another guy that exclusively works with genetic mutations, and he is very reasonably priced. I think it he charges $60 for the consult via skype.

I personally know of 3 people that have gone to him and they were very impressed and are seeing improvements.

His name is Robert Miller.

Seems you've had it rough bearded one and I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm also treating with Cannabis and CBD oil. I've been treating for about 3 month and I'm finally starting to see some significant improvement. I believe my main infection is Bartonella as I might have cleared the Lyme disease using abx. It's always been the dominant one as well. I detailed my own journey here :

I also want to say that you should not discard CBD as a helpful treatment. In the study I saw on MRSA (pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/np8002673) CBD and THC are pretty much equally effective at killing off 6 different MRSA strains. You might also want to google Dr Ernie Murakami a canadian doctor who is working with CBD and Lyme. They have already shown that CBD kills Lyme spirochetes in vitro. I think they are putting together a clinical trial at the moment using only CBD. On top of that it also has anti-anxiety and anti-inflammatory properties.

My personal opinion is that you want the widest possible cannabinoid and terpene profile and as much of each as possible, especially since CBD and THC binds to different receptors and other studies have shown them to work in synergy I believe that a ratio of CBD and THC is the best. The ratio is not known since there are no studies yet on Lyme and Cannabis.

Here is an excerpt from an interview with Dr. Yehuda Baruch, an israeli cannabis researcher:

"Q: What type of research have you been doing in regards to cannabidiol (CBD)? Have you looked at the 1:1 ratio of THC to CBD?

A: We have some useful information in this regard from Bedrocan* and a belief of what enhances CB receptors best for CBD absorption. We use cell cultures of various cancer patients and infuse them with either synthetic or natural THC:CBD ratios—as well as various extract combinations—to see what happens to cells. And we find that too much THC such as in a 1:4 or 1: 3 ratio of CBD to THC creates a diminishing effect, a bell curve and more CBD is needed than THC.

So 5 - 10 mg of CBD is a good amount. Maybe a 2:1 ration of CBD:THC is better. But we also know that too much CBD can mean diminishing effects, so we need to research this more.

[*Editor’s Note: Bedrocan is a cannabis research, development and production company based in Holland that carries out the national medical marijuana program for the Dutch Ministry of Health. Bedrocan is also a licensed cannabis producer in Canada.]"

In my country in Europe Hemp is completely legal, the only thing banned is THC. Heck, even cannabis plants before they flower are legal. Because of that I can buy my CBD oil from an organic certified farm where they make the oil in-house via CO2 extraction and they also have an in-house lab to quantify the contents and guarantee the quality (each bottle is marked with CBD + CBDA and THC content, usually <0.1-0.2%).

Glad you are making progress that is great to hear, i will read your story tonight. Thanks for linking it for me.

I have nothing against CBD at all, and i agree that CBD is helpful. I slightly disagree with CBD coming from Hemp, but fully with you on CBD if it is taken from the Cannabis plant.

Full spectrum is needed, not just THC, I probably wasn't clear on that. IMHO, you need all of the plant THC, CBD, CBN, CBG, CBC, CBDL, CBE, CBT, Terps as well as the rest of them, and this needs to be done through the Cannabis plant and not the Hemp plant.

I am familiar with Dr Ernie Murakami and i followed his work, but lost interest due to him recommending one of the imported Hemp waste products. A few people i know in the industry reached out to him to try and show him lab reports that contained Heavy Metals, Ammonia as well as a significant lower amount of CBD than what was claimed, but got no reply.

I know numerous Lyme people taking CO, the ones that load up on THC are doing better than the ones that are trying to do a 1-1 ratio or something close.

Again, not against CBD as long as it comes from the Cannabis plant.

I am also not saying that using Hemp CBD oil for symptom relief is not valid, i however would never put a product into my body from those who import the waste to make the Hemp CBD oil.

I guess i am leaning the other way due to my goals, i am not looking for symptom relief i am looking to kill it all and in order to do that you need a full profile CO.

The oil that i take might have 780mg THC, but since it is made from Cannabis and not hemp it contains the full spectrum of the plant..

Buying the CBD oil the way you are doing it is totally different than what is available over here, as it is imported and full of crap....

Regardless if we might have differing opinions on some things, I think we can both agree that Cannabis is no doubt a valid treatment for Lyme.

Just read your story, sorry you had to go through all of that Lyme is just terrible.

I also read that you are on 150-200mg of THC along with the CBD, are you taking those doses daily?

I think that looks pretty good to me, are you going to increase the THC more or stay at this level?

How are you getting the THC, is it from CO or edibles?

I really wish everyone with Lyme would give this a shot..................

I see that you are well informed. I did not know that about Murakami. I completely agree with you about the source of the hemp oil. I read the FDA notice about the scams, which is why I did my research before I bought anything and as you said, the situation in Europe is completely different. As I wrote in my thread, the thing that convinced me was that a single 400 mg dose of CBD from Hemp oil (CO2 extraction) caused a massive Herx in exactly the same way that my homemade cannabis extracts did while at the same time it did nothing to my healthy volunteer subject :)

My preferred solution would have been to use only my own Cannabis and I would've used a mix of 1:1 strains and high THC strains. The problem is that my space is relatively small and I can only grow a few plants at a time. Therefore I need the CBD oil to dilute my supply.

My goal is to take as much as I can tolerate but to conserve my supply I take a base dose, which is slightly smaller, around 2g, and then I pulse it at high dose 3 up to 5g (with the strains I'm using it should be around 400-600mg of THC) for 3-4 days until the Herx hits and then I back off a bit again.

Most of what I take is alcohol tinctures I make myself, they're pretty strong containing the equivalent of 1g of bud in 1 ml, which fits in one large gelatin capsule. I also do cannabutter with all the trim and popcorn buds and make brownies with it. On top I also vaporize 0.5-1g a day mostly for symptom relief and to help me sleep.

Finally, yes I completely agree with you, everyone should at least try it. I fear that many might be put off by the sometimes severe Herx reactions, I know I had some brutal ones that made me want to quit. That's one reason I like the CBD richer strains, I feel that they lessen the anxiety that the Herx caused for me.

All of that sounds right on point to me, i wish you a full recovery.


Odds are i will just stay on a maintenance dose forever, partly to eliminate a possible Lyme coming out of remission scenario, possible new tick bite, reduce chances of possible cancer and just general health all around.

Since our bodies were created with THC/CBD receptors and this magical plant that has grown naturally since the start of time just happens to produce both of these, it logically makes sense to just take it.

Last time i checked i have no SSRI, Xanax, Abx, Chemo or Radiation receptors inside me, so i am just going to stick with this plant thingy.

What are your plans?

Stay on forever or taper down to nothing once you heal 100%?

You obviously know what you are talking about. This is an idea that i am thinking about, what are your thoughts on it?

We know that, Lyme when threatened goes into cyst form. I have no clue if CO hits the cyst and breaks it open, so i got to thinking about it and came up with this idea.

DMSO has been clinically proven ( in Vitro) to break up cysts, so i was thinking about binding the CO with DMSO and taking that internally under the theory that the DMSO would carry the CO directly to the cyst. Break it open then kill the Lyme that comes out.


I will add this as well, a friend is in Colorado right now and one thing she has been told is that CBG is given to Cancer patients with Cysts in order to break them down. Assuming that is accurate, a high CBG tincture might be a valid thing to add. She also said that the strain Cannatonic is what they normal use for this. So maybe a CO for cannatonic will attack and break the cysts open.

Appreciate everyone's thoughts here. So would a U.S. dispensary be able to lead one in the right direction? What does one ask for- CBD with THC? I'm not thrilled with the smoking bit, but the vapor or ingesting--I'm just confused on all of this!

If i walked into a dispensary and i wanted to treat Lyme i would say this....

I have Lyme and i want to use Cannabis Oil to treat it. I would like the highest mg THC per gram that you can locate. I would prefer the oil to be made from the strain Free Leonard. I would also like a high CBD oil (preferred) or tincture that is made from the Cannabis plant and not made from the Hemp plant.........

I do not use CBD oil, but like Ohyran has shared it helps him. Everyone is different and it would be impossible for it to harm you so might as well add that in as well.

If they do not have access to the strain Free Leonard, then any oil with 550+ mg of THC per gram is good oil and just get the one that has the highest THC per gram.

Vaping eliminates the harsh effects of smoking bud as it is the extreme heat that releases the elements that you do not want in you as well as burns/waste THC/CBD.

Edibles you can purchase with varying levels of THC, taking an edible is one way to ingest the THC; however, it is not nearly as potent as taking it in the Oil form. Also edible highs are different and can last a very long time if you mess up and take too much, and with Lyme and not much experience with Cannabis i would avoid that for now.

YOU MUST START VERY VERY VERY VERY low on your dosage, otherwise you are in for a rough Herx. Literally start with a pin sized little dot, see how that night goes and then increase it slowly till you build up your tolerance. This is very powerful stuff being so concentrated into the oil, it will not hurt you if you take too much you will just get high and have to ride it out as well as any potential Herx.

If you want to do more in one day ( ie you take a little drop and do not feel anything and want to take more), take it and wait two-three hours ( as this would be roughly the peak of whatever high), and then take a little more.

I would take it in the evening before bed.

Ways to take it:

1. Sublingually ( this is how i take it): Dry off underside of tounge and wipe it on the veins so it goes directly into the blood stream.

2. Orally: You would combine it with Coconut Oil, and then you can put it into empty jel caps or just take it via spoon.

3. Suppository: There are directions for this, this will eliminate the high for most people.

4. Topical etc etc, there are more ways but the above three are the best IMHO.

Also if you are going to smoke/vape, then you are going to want a Sativa strain for the daytime and an Indica strain for the evening.
