list the herbs/supplements that make you herx

I'm still awaiting test results, but I've noticed the following seem to exacerbate my symptoms:

- andrographis
- boswellia
- cat's claw
- melatonin (immune stimulant effects?)


How about y'all?

Anything that can have an impact on the immune system, or has an anti-infective quality can make you herx, but so can moving too many toxins out of the tissues and into the bloodstream, like Epsom salt and peroxide full body soaks can do to some people.

Traveler, you are so right....anything that regulates the immune system causes a herx for me. I have had herxes from moducare, folinic acid, magnesium, and all Cowden herbals. I had my 23 and me testing done and my LLND suggested I take folinic acid to help with detoxing. I herxed from 1/8 capsule every second day and had to stop it after taking it twice! Scared to try most supplements.

I herxed on day 4 samento too. Also on methylated b vits, those had me hugging the wall all day; my husband had to hold me up in the shower.

cd3764, how long have you been doing buhner's now? or still transitioning?

yeah, I realized the hard way that once you plateau you should need to switch things up. I got stuck in neutral for a long time not realizing I had more options and what could be done to keep improving.

I was hoping ivermectin/albenza, which I started in Feb would bring me to the promised land, those meds made me herx to the moon and really crushed me for so many months so they were very effective meds for me. But I plateaued, I'd made huge improvements but realized I still have to keep pushing things. I trialed a full dose of samento/banderol/cumanda and ended up with a monstrous torturous 9 day herx. This served to confirm that I still have significant disease load and I needed to rotate things or add things to keep pushing this thing back.

So I looked into and found this llnd to work with me, who has given me a solid new program, mix of abx and herbals. I was doing great, and recently added in the super artemisinin and holy smokes, I wasn't expecting that to do much to me (I've tried it before, not such a high dose, but it never really did much for me it seemed like), but it triggered a nasty insomnia, anxiety, pain herx. Had to take a step back, and will reintroduce it again once I recover, but prob ease into it rather than going full dose approach. I've come such a long ways and feel so much stronger, my baseline is really much more solid, but boy I can still get whacked and that is rather frustrating. Impatience sometimes gets the better of me and I just want to push full steam ahead. This thing can feel like an endless journey. But given how long and how sick I've been I'm having to climb out from a very very deep hole.

Did you see the ingredients, Toronto? It has cat's claw in it, so it's not surprising that you felt something - but you need more than that to heal Lyme unfortunately.

Not for actual treatment of Lyme. It mainly contains herbs/ natural ingredients that will raise the immune system.

If that's all you are looking for, astragalus I bet is cheaper and is what Buhner recommends not only for avoiding reinfection, but for the earliest of stages of Lyme. I've been using it since January and have had quite a few ticks attach without any symptoms of Lyme returning.

If you are looking for an at home treatment, Buhner's would still be my recommendation.
