Confused about using Samento/Banderol with abx

I keep reading conflicting info about the subject. Can you use S/B alongside abx or no? If no, why not?

I believe in Steven Buhner's book "Healing Lyme" he said it is OK to mix pharma with herbal treatment.

I have mixed Rx with herbals often over the past three out of five years. Currently taking Cat's Claw, Cryptolepis, GSE, NAC, NOW Candida Support, VSL#3-DS, Serrapeptase, ALA, Milk Thistle, Cod Liver Oil, Vit B6&B12, and just added back Rx of Cipro and Mino.

I've read quite a few patient stories where they are doing just that. My llnd with pharma background has no problem with it, down the line I will probably add samento/banderol in with the abx. I suppose the main thing to watch out for is the possibility of massive herxes, so you should try to go very very slow to be safe.

Just as LLMD's mix pharma abx, it's perfectly fine to also take herbal abx.

I totally agree with slowly titrating the herbs. I thought I was titrating slowly (more slowly than Cowden dictates) and I had my worst-ever herx on 3 drops of Banderol and Samento.

Thanks everyone, the reason I asked if because I've read
somewhere that Samento interferes with the way abx is absorbed into your system causing either too high or low levels of it. Now I don't know where i read it.

I also wonder about doing samento/banderol along with an antibiotic protocol. My LLMD just switched me from Cowden protocol after 3 months. She now has me doing antibiotics just 3 days/week (4 days off), 3 weeks/month (1 week off). My thought was the rx protocol is supposed to work with the Lyme bacteria as they cycle through spirochete, cysts, biofilm forms. So that if samento/banderol work, their action would interfere with planned rx timing.

But, I'm not sure. My LLMD may just think I'm too fragile for both. She thinks I'm sicker than when I saw her 2 months ago 😣 that being the reason to switch me to antibiotics

We need to clarify this - it's okay to mix some herbs with abx - but definitely not all herbs! Buhner was referring to the herbs in his protocol.

But with that said, I believe that Samento is also safe to take with abx as well.
