Igenex!!

Igenex gives free two day shipping with their packages. You can get the blood drawn and let them know you'll be taking it to a local fedex office yourself as an alternative option. This is what I did, super easy, the just pack it up for you and you take it to a local fedex. Besides, when a lab offers to ship something, they typically will charge for it. (My local hospital wanted $50 just to have fedex come pick up the already pre-paid package)

Technically, it SHOULD get there on Friday at which point they will refrigerate it and it will be safe, but to be sure I'd take it myself on Monday or Tuesday. Having the blood get stuck on a Saturday through the weekend when they aren't open could ruin the samples.

Nope! In fact it's recommended that the Lyme samples are sent at room temperature. If you take it to fed-ex yourself, it will typically go out the same night and is placed in a special *bio hazard* bin, so it won't be sitting in the office overnight and is sent with the same shipping as if your hospital sent it. The only difference is, your hospital sounds like they would be waiting a couple days before sending it.

Just let them know when they draw the blood that you will be taking the package to FedEx yourself, and make sure they label the vials (this is all included in the igenex package, along with instructions on how to secure the samples), and then drop it off before 4:00 PM.
