IGenex Results Today..... A little confused as what to do next

I am still waiting on my whole blood PCR

I do not have an LLMD that I am aware of in my area (Tampa, FL) and the doctor that authorized the blood test is a Rheumatologist that allowed me 200 mg/day of Doxycycline for 3 weeks.... No more..I asked.

Can someone help me understand the results .... ? I've read that band 31 is very lyme specific. I am very frustrated because I realize that to win over the help of a local doctor I truly needed an overwhelming positive test.

I have started the Buhner core protocol and I am collecting the additional herbs for the coinfections but the test results have me wondering if I am wrong about the cause of my symptoms. Any advice would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks...

Igenex results are based on the following bands being positive: 23-25, 31, 34, 41 and 83-93. (If two on the list show positive, you are Igenex positive)


I have read that band 31 is lyme specific, but have also read that it can cross-react with a virus. My husband had only 31 and 41 of the above bands positive, so Igenex did a confirmation test ($100) to confirm that 31 was indeed lyme. If you only have 31 and 41 +, Igenex won't call it positive, unless you do the extra test on band 31.

But, looking at your test results...you do have activity on bands on 31, 41, and 83-93 - I would take these test results to the LLMD (when you find one)...and keep in mind - the diagnosis is a clinical one...the test is only used as a back-up. Your test results certainly indicate lyme disease.

Keep in mind, that many people get negative tests and DO have lyme disease. Some don't even have + bands. If the immune system is suppressed then it's likely that the antibodies won't be produced by the body - in turn resulting in a negative test.

If you have the symptoms consistent with lyme disease, with these results, I think you're wise to do the Buhner's protocol.

I am very interested in seeing an LLMD though I am losing hope that there is one in my area. I have posted twice and have received no responses. I am starting to think that driving or flying out of my area may be my best option. Apparently there is a clinic nearby that is a "wellness" institute, but it seems to have enormous weekly costs. And... while my health is paramount I'm not ready to hand over a lifetimes worth of retirement savings just yet. I am just looking for a doctor that will acknowledge this disease for what it is and can help me find the right mix of herbals and antibiotics that will get me on the road to recovery.
