I've been on a medical leave for Lyme, co's and POTS for the last 18 months. I have applied and been denied for SSDI twice. My job won't hold my position any longer so in 1 1/2 weeks I'll try going back. Although, I am feeling better I'm so scared I won't be able to handle it. My remaining symptoms are crazy heart rate and BP (POTS), numbness in feet and hands (neuropathy) and neuro stuff.
I've been feeling really scared and anxious about this and rather than holding it in I thought I'd put it out there and see if anyone else has/is going through something like this?
In my perfect world... i'd get off the couch, start driving, and thrive at the job I've been doing for 20 years!
Could use some positive thoughts/prayers sent my way:)

Hang in there! I feel like any day now, there is going to be a meeting with me, my boss and HR, basically telling me that I have to go on sick leave because of my sick days and inability to be at work every day. I'm so scared. I'm just like you, independant, thriving at work, a go-getter. But this illness has really held me back from being the "awesome" employee everyone knows me to be :( At the end of the day, you have to do what's best for you and your health matters most. I hope things work out for you. Know that you're not alone, positive vibes and prayers to you!

Is there any way you could start a gradual return to work? perhaps a couple days a week for a few weeks, just to get used to the schedule?

I hold a 'casual' position with my employer...but at some point I may get the letter saying I need to prove I am unfit to work...

I'm a type A personality, anal retentive and a perfectionist. I also am a "cup half full person." Happy and goofy. Lyme is trying to take myself away.

I'm having to learn to do what I can do, the best I can do it, and that's it. I have to learn to be nice to myself. It is so hard to hurt so badly with no outward wounds for others to see. I try not to whine constantly because I hurt constantly and some days I just cry in the shower.

My sister, diagnosed w/Lyme in '08', had pursued SSDI for THREE years and finally got it-keep trying!

I've been getting treatment for Lyme & Co's one year now and need to apply for SSDI-not looking forward to it!

If prayers and positive thoughts are what you need, then I will send them to you.....! I know the anxious feeling all too well, but I can feel all the prayers coming my way, guiding me and protecting me...

Thank goodness for prayer....oh, I heard a great sermon the other day, very timely....about how God put 24 hours in a day...why? Because that's all we can handle! The past is gone...GONE! The future isn't here yet...all we have-and can handle-is today.... So, TRY ( I know it's hard)
to enjoy each day as it comes...
