Do you herx??

Yes, I herx. My first herx was on Day 4 of doxy - the first antibiotic I was given...but i didn't recognize it as a herx. I had back pain...which I never had before...it lasted 12 days until Traveler told me to back off on the meds...and after a couple days of half dose, my back pain wasn't so bad.

But, I have trouble sometimes recognizing herxes...because i feel bad almost all the time, too. I usually have daily flares - late afternoon/early evening..when my symptoms ramp up...this happened even before i started treatment.

I have had a few herxes around Day 4 after starting different antibiotics...

Detox does help...it doesn't totally get rid of my symptoms, my best remedy has been the Nutramedix Pinella.

I can't say I have improvement specifically after the herxes...though.

I'm thinking maybe you just haven't hit the right infection yet - I had some improvement treating lyme...with antibiotics (and lyme/bart herbs), but not enough for 9 1/2 months of antibiotics. Now we're targetting bart...so hoping I'll see more improvement.

What does your LLMD say about the lack of improvement and herxing?

Day 10 of 2 antibiotics. The lymph nodes are not as swollen under my jaw, but other than that I notice nothing different other than I got very depressed for a couple of days.

I just posted this in your other thread but when you say you feel worse from medicine that is herxing. It does not have to be followed by a relief in symptoms. Feeling worse is herxing because you are killing the bacteria. Detox does help me. I herx but do not have improvements. I just think you haven't found your main issue/main infection yet and just treating Lyme is not doing it for you. There is hope! Try something else

We see the word herx here, and in the general lyme community a lot.

Sometimes I think its overused, and we have no certain Idea of whats really going on inside if we experience different degrees of discomfort during ABX use.

I have a lot of "discomfort" from ABX. Is it herxing? I cant prove it, no one can.

But, guess what, it just does that to some people, especially to those that dont naturally detox well due to specific liver gene mutations (there are a bunch of them). And their liver enzymes are usually beyond range on ABX as well. If I was a hard drinker, Doc says I'd be dead by now.

So It might be possible that if someone has a near perfect liver- it detoxes great, you might not feel anything? Just a thought.

*****Have you had liver alt and ast tested when on ABX? If they dont go up at all, you are blessed with a great liver.
