Bart symptoms? Like gout

Hi so after talking to my sons llnp yesterday, she said he suspects he has Bart and that what I was thinking is an upset stomach as in major loss of appetite from abx is actually Bart because Bart can target the gut. He has lost too much weight now.

But also Im wondering, my son in the winter had a bad bout of what seemed like gout, it wasn't gout but certainly mimicked it. Painful painful toe and side of foot close to toe, bit discoloured and couldn't walk on it, blankets hurt, shower Hurt , two weeks...is that neuropathy and do u think that could be a Bart symptom?

She didn't test for co infections, I think she just trusts they are??

She has him on clarithromycin now and adding ceftin Monday.

That sounds like it could be Bart. Bart is notorious for foot pain. It also causes coagulation problems, which could be why it was discolored.

When my infections exploded, I had bad foot pain. It was not gout (my uric acid was normal).

Is he taking any magnesium? Oftentimes, Lymies are low in magnesium. That can cause painful cramping in the legs and feet.

Bart also causes GI problems. High quality probiotics (at least least 50 billion a day) are key while treating. If someone has GI problems, more probiotics might be necessary. Detox is very important too.

I hope he gets his appetite back soon.

Hi Lymie girl, I've been focusing so much on the Lyme, I havnt read much at all about Bart or any of the other coinfections
But I also wasn't realizing till yesterday that the llnp was thinking Bart as well.

His Uric acid levels were normal as well. And although three out of four docs agreed it wasn't gout, they really had nothing more to explain what it was.

He has just started magnesium about a week ago.

So about the coagulation, technically can this happen in the fingers too? He's had swelling and pain in fingers but nothing like he had in the foot toe area for those 2 weeks that kept him pretty much ion his back.

It could be Bart or Lyme. Lyme can cause swelling in the joints. My fingers / knuckles were swollen too when everything exploded. My feet had discolored nodules. My ankle was swollen too. The foot pain and swelling did calm down. It was pretty painful. I thought I might have gout too. I really hoped I did not. Then I found out I had Lyme and Co. rolleyes

It sounds like your on the right track.
