I would say that because of what you have described, and the fact that the rest of the family has been exposed, he likely has been as well and that if you can get him to treat at some point in time, it would be good - but how to get him to see that treatments could help him is the tough part.
So I take it your hubby has never actually read one of those pamphlets that explains all the possible side effects of any medication???? I started pointing those out to my hubby just on the tv ads (by commenting only "Wow! I would have to be in bad shape to take that and risk those side effects) and it got my hubby starting to look at the possible side effects of many pharma drugs - and yet he chose pharma abx when he was infected this summer anyway - LOL!!! Oh well, each of us has our own path.
But with your kids, there are many sites that can be used to back up the very real dangers to them with using abx - sorry to those that have chosen this route - I promise no insult is intended!!!!!
