Just Got My Igenex Test Back...LLMD Prescribed Herbs. Anyone here experienced with this?

Hello Everyone,

I haven't posted on here in many many months, but I'm back and wanted to share the latest news on my. I don't have my igenex in front of me, but those who have taken it before know

So the "igenex" portion read as positive for both tests, (forget what their called) But one test is "infection currently present" and the other is "exposed to past infection"

Both were positive, but the "CDC" portion, the "exposed to past infection" test was positive while the other was negative.

The doctor has directed me to purchase some Herbs.

Andrographis
Resveratrol
Cat's Claw

I will take these many times per day over the course of a Month or so.

Has anyone on here had good experiences with these Herbs? My LLMD seems confident that this should help me, assuming I don't get any Herx from the treatment.

Well, no doubting you have lyme with those test results!

The Resveratrol and Cat's Claw are part of Buhner's protocol for lyme.
Make sure the Resveratrol is from Japanese Knotweed - not another source...is JK is the recommended one to use.
You might want to add the Eleutheros to the herbs you are taking.

You might want to take a look at Buhner's website...and take a look at the protocols on the left hand side of the page:

I hope you aren't planning on taking them just for one month? You will need longer treatment than that.

Thanks for the reply. I really trust my doctor, and I think he wants to see if it helps at first. I really trust that my doctor knows what he is doing. He's an LLMD and he's been great thus far, and has suggested different methods other than pumping me full of antibiotics and he also seems to not believe the ''CDC" guidelines.

Well, congrats on having a doctor that understands a positive test when they see one! And I agree that it seems to be a version of Buhner's protocol.

I do hope that you will continue to update us on how you are tolerating this protocol though!!

That's great that you have a good Dr. that you can trust, and one that is interested in the herbs.

Don't be disappointed if you don't have improvement after one month on the herbs, though...it can take several months before you notice anything.
Hopefully, you do feel something early on...either a bit better...or a herx. Both signs that the herbs are working.

Yeah it is great. I'm glad I listened to your guys' advice to make sure I found an LLMD. He really seems knowledgeable and today he told me that he's had more success stories using herbal treatment than sending someone to a "lyme specialist" who pumps them full of antibiotics.

Whats great about this doctor is his an LLMD, but also an ND. So i guess he's an LLND, so he's very willing to prescribe natural remedies, and also has had success in doing so to back up his claims.

These supplements are expensive though...

I have a LLND (I'm in BC, Canada) - who prescribes antibiotics, but also had me on Buhner's herbs.
I have coverage for the cost of the antibiotics, but not the herbs...and they really are expensive.

But, I figure, I need to spend what it takes to get well...because the biggest loss financially for this family is my loss of wages....
so getting well...and back to work...is the best thing for us.

Yes, good for you girlie. I know you are active on this site, and I remember talking to you before (not sure if you remember me) but I'm certain that you have helped countless people.

Unfortunately for me, I'm still at work. Luckily for me its a desk job, but I just moved out of my apartment and into a house last week, and with this lyme there would be times my arms and legs would feel like they were going to give out just lifting a desk or a dresser. It feels like my muscles are degenerating and deteriorating or something. I consider myself to be "strong" but my strength only lasts a couple of minutes now before my legs and body literally give out. I've been powering through this for the last 4 years. As you know, feeling like sh** becomes our new "normal" and we just sort of get through life.

Thank you for the compliment - I have been helped so much by the people on this forum...that I want to give back. I don't know if i would even be diagnosed today...if I hadn't stumbled across this forum. And that really concerns me...can't imagine how I'd be now...

I don't have a lot of knowledge - like some of the others on here...but if I can at least talk about my experiences...and maybe someone can relate...and know they're not alone - then I've done my job...

So sorry you are experiencing muscle weakness....that is why I stopped working. I got into the car one morning going to work...and I was stopped at a red light...and my leg started to shake - as I was trying to keep the brake pedal pressed. I got to work, went in to see the manager...and said I couldn't work anymore.

My muscles have gotten stronger in the past year, since treatment...and yours will too...it does take time, though, and mine still have a ways to go...
