I hate to even imagine it, but does anyone have or had a child with Lyme and/or co-infections? and how long before signs and symptoms showed, and how long was the treatment? I ask because I fear my 4-year old daughter might have Lyme now. I removed a nymph tick off her neck back in May and while there was no immediate rash or signs, she has started to complain over the last two months or so about her eyes hurting (sometimes behind her right eye, sometimes her left) and she also sometimes complains about her legs hurting (usually pointing to her right shin) and every now and then she'll say her head hurts. When I ask her, she says the pain goes away after a few minutes....her blood tests back in May came back negative (as they usually do) but with band 41 being the only reactive band. When I removed the tick, it couldn't have been on her for more than a minute or two because she just came out of the shower and my wife would have noticed it, so we're assuming it crawled on her afterwards and bit her right before I found it and removed it; I'm hoping the tick didn't have enough time to feed or get its nasty bacteria in her, but who knows.....needless to say, I have no confidence whatsoever with our general doctors because they go by the CDC standard and my own horror story started with negative test results. As a parent, and as someone who is still dealing with LD and Babesia, I'm worried and terrified of what my daughter can experience, and no parent should have to see their child suffer this miserable disease. I was sick and miserable for 2 years before I was correctly diagnosed and I know I will not let my daughter go through what I went through. So is it too early to suggest Lyme, or am I just in panic mode? My wife had it 3 times and is now dealing with LD symptoms and I am still getting over my fight with it, so we obviously have more than enough (or wanted) experience with this stuff, but if our daughter has it, what do we do and how do we get help? I don't think our general doctors will be of much help and the LLD I go to accepts patients only as young as 11. Needless to say my wife and I are very concerned with our daughter and feel helpless right now because we just don't have any confidence in the general doctors and their treatment. So far our daughter's eating and sleeping habits are the same, her appetite is good, and her activity level and personality is still good but we're still very concerned about her. Sorry to ramble, but any advice and information would be greatly appreciated!
