So someone correct me if I'm wrong.... Herxing is a result of the toxins made from antibiotics or whatever killing off the lyme.  I've been on oral anitbiotics for right at a year & IV drugs for 5 months & have never herxed nor have my symptoms improved.  Maybe geting a little worse if anything.  Does not herxing mean antibiotics aren't doing anything or maybe not on the right ones??

Herxing is defined as: Herxing is believed to occur when injured or dead bacteria release their endotoxins into the blood and tissues faster than the body can comfortably handle it. This provokes a sudden and exaggerated inflammatory response.


Basically Herxing happens usually when progress is being made, and the bacteria is being killed and the toxins are being released into your bloodstream. It seems to me that either A. You may not have lyme, B. You're not on the right Meds, C. Wrong Antibiotic, D. Need to try an herb regimen or E. B, C, D, or F. ABC

There are many reasons why people don't herx. One (which isn't all that common) is that they have superb detox abilities.

Another is that most of their infection is in cyst form and they haven't been taking a cyst buster. It could be a good 10 months before a cyst breaks open as part of the normal life cycle. Abx can only killl spirochetes.

Finally, it's not uncommon for people to asymptomatic babesia and/or bartonella infections that can impede healing from Lyme.

I also tested positive for mold toxins so LLMD thinks the mold has something to do with me not responding to lyme meds. Been on nasal therapy for mold for about 5 months as well. I'm not your usual lyme case. Symptoms are all nuerological. No brain fog, fevers, joint pain that are your standard lyme symptoms. I've heard nuerological lyme disease is harder to treat, but no expert. Extremely frustrated....
