I have the same issue. Especially at the elbows. If I scratch the area the intensity of itching goes up 100 fold. Though I've never had it, I would compare it to poison ivy. Applying direct heat or cold (like ice) seems to bring it down to a manageable level. The other thing I have noticed is that if I take milk thistle it goes away for hours at a time.
Please let us know what your doctor says.... I believe it to be either a yeast overgrowth or a co-infection. .
I have been to 2 dermatologists and both prescribed topical cortisone. The second dermatologist raised the strength to .25% and it seemed to work. Of course, that was before I understood how counterproductive steroid treatment could be with this disease.
