My thoughts:
While the verdict is still out on whether it can be congenital or not, it also is not something like HIV.
If you suspect that your child has been infected trans-placentally after birth, have the child checked and monitor frequently.
It's not a death sentence. It's not a guaranteed infection.
But it's something only you can decide. Are symptoms or issues that might arise worth the risk?
Will there be significant issues later in life? Will there never be any issues?
You can't know.
