Anyone dealing with this issue could be well served by thorough thyroid testing....not just TSH.
Lyme is famous for causing hypothyroidism. And, untreated/undertreated hypothyroidism can impede healing from Lyme.
Unfortunately, many doctors don't run the right thyroid tests. LLMD's seem to be a bit better.
TSH is a pituitary hormone and not a reliable indicator of thyroid function - especially when disease processes such as Lyme & Co. come into play.
Looking at TSH to judge thyroid status is like looking at the odometer when you want to know how much gas is in your tank.
Thyroid status is more accurately determined by looking at the actual levels of thyroid hormone that are available for the body's use:
Free T4 (T4 or thyroxine, free, direct)
Free T3 (tri-iodothyroinine, free, serum)
Healthy people have FreeT4 and FreeT3 levels well above mid-range and often closer to the high ends of their respective ranges.
If anyone tests with either/both levels lower than that, they would benefit from some thyroid hormone replacement.
I will gladly help any interested parties interpret their thyroid test results. I'm no stranger to thyroid issues since I've been dealing with them long before I got bit by the tick last year.
