Remember, as you said - you're an adult!! You have the right to make your own medical choices - even if they don't like them.
You are right, most ID docs will say that's a negative test - or a false positive. We see this all too often here.

Borrelia is Lyme in the strictest sense - meaning this test is for only 1 of over 100 strains known to create human illness. It's that specific. You have tested positive on 5 of those bands.
Then you can simply ask how you can have Borrelia specific antibodies without having had Lyme? They can't cross react (no matter what you hear), that's why they are called Borrelia specific bands. If you have Borrelia in your body and have symptoms - you have Lyme.
Or you can tell them that you are getting treatment and that's it. Not a position any of us wants to be in, but one that too many of us have been in.
