For anyone who takes herbal antibiotics... are you having such a slow time as I am raising the amount of drop you take of your herbal antibiotics? I started Samento & Banderol 6-7 weeks ago now and I'm barley managing 6 drops. I did work up to 12 drops quite quickly then had to back down to 10 then back to 12...then it was so bad I cut it in half to 5 drops of each. Now I'm taking 6 but dizzy/off balance, numbness in left arm/tingling in a couple fingers. I've been stuck at 6/7 drops for a week and a half.
Is this too slow of progress?? I want to stop my herbals for a few days but I feel like I'm going backwards and further away from healing if I do that so I just keep lowering my drops.

When your infected you already have a big toxin load and those toxins shut down detox because they cause inflammation. you have to
open your detox pathways or it will just get worse.

That doesn't seem right JessicaMommy. From my perspective, sounds like you have coinfections that are starting to give you symptoms. You should be able to slowly increase your herbs and continue to get better, with little herxes in between. I'd look into adding some babesia and bartonella herbs into your protocol.

As my signature indicates, I've been transitioning to Buhner's Lyme and Babesia protocols since mid-July.
I say "transitioning" because I'm still not up to the full doses he recommends.
Admittedly, I'm taking a total of 20 or more herbs right now but, many of them are supportive.
I am taking 11 different antimicrobial herbs and am only up to 6 drops each at this point.
I've herxed on the Babesia herbs as much as I did on abx....but I've FINALLY experienced improvements!
Detoxing is vital and I think the fact that I've been detoxing consistently... using different methods...for over a year has helped tremendously.
20/20 hindsight is telling me I should have addressed the possibility of coinfections from the get-go. My ILADS-trained LLMD is insistent I only have Lyme but that is so, so, rare - especially now that I've learned that people can have asymptomatic babesia and/or bartonella infections.
My research has told me that those asymptomatic infections can impede healing from Lyme if they are left untreated.
And, you'll find stories on here of people who just weren't healing from Lyme....and are finally experiencing improvements once they started treating for co's.
I've learned that treating for co's makes Lyme more vulnerable to treatment and that is proving true for me.
In your case, JessicaMommy, I think you should work towards increasing your detox even more (I continue to add to my detox protocol) so you can handle treatments.
No matter what, please do not consider increasing/adding until you can get the current herx under control.
It's clear your body is dealing with a lot of toxins and I'm sorry to say I'm not surprised. This is, unfortunately, what people go through after remaining undiagnosed for awhile.
Hang in - it will get better.

I've had to ramp up drops extremely slowly. I herxed really bad from each drop of Samento and Banderol. It turned out that I have a MTHFR mutation which causes detoxing issues. Don't know if you've been tested for that yet. That could be a reason why you experience so much herxing. Definitely detox as much as you can. I take chlorella, sarsaparilla, Burbur, Pinella, parsley and drink tea with half a lemon all day. That helps with herxing quite a bit. I add other things during a bad herx. I know it's frustrating when you want to get better but ramping up the herbs is such a slow process. Hang in there and listen to your body.
