K and I use a whole organic lemon each daily, cut in half to give 2 doses, morning and afternoon. The amount of water doesn't matter, as long as you are getting the lemon. I just shoot down the 1/2 lemon's worth of juice, but K gets it in water with stevia.
I wouldn't recommend drinking it slowly, the acid will etch your teeth. Don't brush right after drinking it.
Lemon can be invigorating, so we don't use it in the evening.
Because I don't want to waste the organic lemon rinds, I cut them into small pieces and dry them. After they are dry, I chop them to a powder in my Vitamix and put the powder in an empty magnesium citrate container (with it's dehydration packets). We then use this as a full spectrum source of natural vitamin C, and I add it to our 3x daily magnesium citrate/MSM/ascorbic acid drinks.
I'm also thinking of adding my dried rose hips (I don't spray my roses).
