OK friends, I haven't posted for a while, and not that often anyway, but I wanted to share with ya'll where I am at now..... Just a refresher... i tested igenex and CDC positive back in March. I was tested by a LLMD that I had originally went to to discuss prob with adrenal exhaustion and thyroid issues (that I managed to find on my own throughLOTS of my own research) b/c we all know noone believes us about that either..... but anyway..... I went to see her and she said my laundry list of symptoms over 5-6 years of many many test sounded like classic lyme to her.... I was sceptical, but said ok to labs..I had a low CD-57 so we did igenex and here I am. Now I went to her thinking that I could start on supplementation for my adrenals and thyroid and get back to normal without to much cost then find out about the lyme. Well I was unsure about the dx anyway simply b/c I have never known anyone with lyme and we stayed outside as kids with known tick bites then, but we never had any problems........ then i started researching to find out what needed to be done....Needles to say the cost of treatment with a LLMD is not in my budget, and as a nurse of 15 years the treatment itself has basically scared the s*&t out of me. Well, I am happy to report that I have a local physician that I saw on monday that is willing to treat ( they have diagnosed several other cases in their office ) and is willing to use ILADS guidelines. now I know that an LLMD's experience base would be best, but I just don't have the funds to make that happen. I have learned so much from reading the posts on this forum and plan to continue to utilize your support and knowledge base. Please say a prayer for me and offer any advice that you might have.

Woo hoo!!! Way to go Kim!! You found a way to make it work!!! Hopefully you won't need to use a LLMD for their knowledge, but maybe your new doc would be willing to contact one if you two get stumped by something!!

The best is always to use a LLMD, but many of us don't - for one reason or another. For me it was not possible to use one once the one I had seen passed away as it would have been a 15 hour drive each way. So we have to do what we can with what we have.

No matter what the doc tells you, start off on VERY low doses and detox like a mad woman.

Don't start or increase doses when you are herxing - or during a full moon, like tonight!

Detox like a mad woman - it simply can't be said often enough!! LOL!

Remember that there will be many ups and downs. Come here for support and to vent, we at least understand!! And usually can be helpful.

You are on the right track! Best of luck for a smooth path on your healing journey!!

Thank you, Traveler... I will definitely be looking for any assistance along the way. It seems as though every person is their own experiment when it comes to treatment anyway, so as long as you have someone to help I guess thats a start.. lol

And, you can always bounce stuff off of us forum pals. There's enough of us - that we've probably heard of every antibiotic/herbal treatment/test that you might be doing...lol

Traveler, in your response yesterday to melimom, you said not to start antibiotics on a full moon. Were you serious? If so, what is that all about?

I'm so sorry for not getting back to you sooner! It's been a super crazy week for me as hubby was gone and things started going awry!

Yes, I was serious!! Most - not all- Lyme patients have symptoms increase during a Full Moon, and some also feel this during a New Moon as well. Starting anything new during a time when a person symptoms may already be aggravated is not a good idea. It's best to detox and start when the symptoms have settle back down.

For me when I was still fighting these infections, I would have symptoms increase 3 days before the Full Moon and last for 3 days afterwards and it happened every month, without fail.

Thanks for responding. I am flabergasted and find that very creepy but really,why should anything about this nasty disease surprise me?

I read that parasites are more active during the full moon. Many of us have Babesia (knowingly or unknowingly - much of the healthy population is asymptomatically infected). Well, Babesia are parasites.

But it goes far beyond Babesia, although we aren't sure what it is exactly that causes it, even those with "just" Lyme (as if that's not bad enough! Ugh) can have symptoms increase during the full moon and even new moon as well.

blush And thank you for your kind words. I could not do what I do without many others surrounding me and helping me as well. We have a really great group of Mods on this forum!!
