There is a light at the end of the tunnel - my story

Hi All,
Im back after a long journey. I don't post much here, but am always reading your stories and updates.
My story
Feb 2013 - came back from Cuba and started feeling a burning sensation in my feet. They would burn so bad at night i would sleep with my feet in front of the fan for relief...fast forward to March 2013, woke up one day with such severe weakness in my body, especially my arms...to the point I couldnt blow dry my hair..I was too weak.
Things got much worse from here. i remember driving one day and had to pull over because i couldnt feel my legs below the knee and was afraid I wouldnt be able to press the brakes. April 2013, Easter weekend I had my neighbor drive me to emerge because I thought I was having a stroke. My while right side was numb...I couldn't feel my head to wash mynhair. CAT scans were negative and I was told to see a neurologist because the ER doc suspected MS. Well, I can tell you that I was frightened beyond belief. may 2013, saw my first neurlogist...did all the MS testing, including MRI of brain and C spine, all negative. In office balance tests etc...all negative. The neurologist told me no MS. Continuing on the next few months I became very depressed, what was wrong with me?? Major dizziness, visual disturbances, weakness, and then came the tingling and nerve pain. OH MY GOD...some days I wanted to crawl out of my skin. The onky relief I could get was to take a warm bath to calm my "aggitated nerves". Tingling was constant, numbness was constant, and just a general feelng of being unwell.

july 2013 sent my blood away to Igenex for testing and had some pretty distinct lyme bands present. I still wasn't convinced...Made an appointment with an LLMD in New York ( I live in Toronto, Canada) and prepared to see her in November. This doctor saved my life...diagnosed me pretty quickly, and I soon started on a pretty aggressive regimen of antibiotics, which I am still taking today. This month marks 9 months of antibiotics and I can happily say I feel 90% better. My nerve damage in my legs still makes me walk wobbly some of the time and my eyes still aren't back to normal, but I no longer feel "sick". I can go to work, to the gym, out with friends, and enjoy life again.

Please find an LLMD if you have any indication of Lyme, as it is imperative that you start treatment ASAP. My doc seems to think another 6 months or so and I can be free of all these meds, we will see.

I thank God every day for this treatment and for the amazing doctor i found. It been a very long road and I can finally say that I feel almost back to normal.

Hi Girlie...I saw the lyme doc in November and she prescribed the abx then but I was so scared to start all these drugs that I put it off until February so I could do some more research. So I actually didnt start them till Feb 2014. How are you?

Okay - that makes sense - Feb 2015 to now.

I'm plugging along. Treated lyme with various antibiotics for 9 1/2 months. Took a 2 1/2 month break to let my liver recover.
And now am back on abx to treat bart...hoping with my current protocol I will see significant improvement.

Time will tell.
