Hey all,
I've been dealing with some stomach issues (gastritis) and have completely revamped my diet and started juicing 3x a day. Although I'm still dealing with stomach pain I have seen SIGNIFICANT improvement in how I feel. I've been juicing cabbage, celery, carrot and spinach 3x a day. I have so much more energy it's unreal. My hair is shinier, eyes whiter, skin is getting better. I'm also following a low-acid diet, all organic w/ tons of vegetables.
Although I've been feeling great, I noticed when I take the prescribed PPI (nexium to lower stomach acid), my pain is better but my numbness and tingling gets worse. Now I'm starting to learn a lot more about stomach acid, leaky gut, etc. I'm wondering if a lot of my tingling could be due to a B-12 deficiency? When stomach acid is low, your body can't absorb B12 effectively and I know testing is not really a reliable indicator of your levels.
I think low stomach acid, high protein/acidic diet got me in this mess in the first place. I think I've been dealing with low acid for a long time.
I'm going to start supplementing with sublingual B12 and see if it helps w/ the numbness/tingling I feel.
Anywho, random thoughts in my head. Just wanted to share about the juicing and highly recommend it.
