Hey Kim!-
I bought -organic coconut extra virgin (cold - pressed) oil.
It is a solid form(although can turn to liquid if stored in warm place).
I got it from my grocery store. It says that you can substitute it for butter in cooking and baking. It also says that it makes a good moisturizer. (I have been "basting" myself with the oil after shower). LOL! If you use as a body moisturizer-a little goes a long way! Don't put too much on, or else you'll get a little greasy! :)
For "oil pulling " : I scrape out a heaping teaspoon full and put in mouth. It will be almost like trying to chew on butter. Start chewing on the oil until it turns into a liquid. Once it's a liquid form then you can start to swish and pull through your teeth. I do this for 20 minutes (I have read some people only do it for 5-10 minutes. Be careful, start out slowly, I have read of people herxing on this!
Make sure to spit the oil out into the garbage. Don't spit in sink, this can clog the plumbing! Rinse your mouth out with water, and brush your teeth (I use toothpaste).
As for just eating a plain teaspoon of the oil; I haven't tried yet.
Did I answer your question? I hope so?
