Those who know my story are aware of the fact that my LLMD had me transition off abx in February to one of the 3 established herbal protocols (I got my choice of Buhner, Cowden or White). I chose Cowden for simplicity's sake.
Unfortunately, despite following the full Cowden protocol to the letter, I was only able to maintain the plateau I hit on abx and my mild PNS issues remained.
It was because of some herxing on Cowden's co-infection herbs that I'd begun to wonder if I'd been dealing with the not-all-that-uncommon possibility of asymptomatic Bartonella/Bartonella-like and Babesia/Babesia-like infections. My research showed that, left untreated, these infections could impede healing from Lyme.
Since Cowden doesn't have published co-infection protocols, I switched to Buhner's for everything (Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella). This was back in mid-July.
I've been up to the full recommended doses for Lyme for awhile. However, I was having trouble titrating the Babesia and Bartonella protocols due to herxes.
I'd increase, herx too much with Lyme, Babs and Bart symptoms.... and wind up back at 8 drops each of the Babesia and Bartonella herbs.
Earlier this month, I found I could increase two herbs every couple of days.
Well, as of the past two weeks, I'm increasing 4-5 herbs as much as 3 drops every day...or every other day...and am now almost up to the recommended doses of the Bart and Babs herbs.
Best thing? My herxes are now just a slight increase increase in my PNS symptoms if I experience anything at all!!!!
As the subject of my thread indicates, I am shocked....but thrilled!!
After over a year of treatment, I've finally found what works for me and expect to be celebrating remission - yay!
I obviously had to share :)
