Hi guys, it's been a while since posting. I started abx treatment in February of this year. Didn't notice any real improvements for the first few months then starting May, I felt great and have been feeling great ever since. I am on a pretty aggressive treatment path. The problem ive had recently is yeast so i went off meds for 3 weeks to take flucozanale. Im back on meds now but last couple days have been having the brain fog and weird nerve issues. Feels like my skin is wet or water running through my veins. Anyone else have this? Maybe its because i went off meds for a short while? Also numb feet and toes and eye vision problems...im hoping now that im back on meds, that this will subside. Just goes to show that even if u are feeling better, it doesn't mean that the disease is gone. Heartbreaking set back for me. Can anyone else relate ?

I think what might be happening to you is that you have an overgrowth of Candida.

Antibiotics kill of the good and bad bacteria in our body. When too much good bacteria is killed off this can lead to yeast issues. This is when Candida (fungus) starts to overgrow in us.

Candida is a natural fungus that is in everyones body, but due to antibiotics, dietary lifestyle, and other health issues can lead to an overgrowth. When an overgrowth happens, you end up with yeast issues.

Are you talking any Fluconazole (Diflucan) or Nystatin daily now?

Both Fluconazole and Nystatin are an anti fungal medication. They are used for the overgrowth of Candida.

Now that you started antibiotics again, I wonder if you have yeast issues again.

I am on oral antibiotics and anti fungal medication daily.

I am not saying that your symptoms are specific to Candida.

Symptoms for Candida and Lyme disease are very similar. It can be hard to tell them apart. I can't even figure out which of my daily symptoms are due to Lyme or Candida.

All I am saying is you might want to ask your doctor if you need to also be taking an anti fungal.

Now that you are back on meds - you could be herxing - especially since you were off for three weeks, allowing the bacteria to flourish.

How long have you been back on the antibiotics?

I also agree with Girlie about it possibly being a herx from restarting your antibiotics.

I also think you are herding again.I am happy you felt well before, i think it means that it is doable and you can reach that point again.
And you are right:you were well but, the sickness was still inside of you.It happened to me too, but, after a 5 month break, and starting Abx. i crashed very hard.I think you should be happy for having such a LLMD and continuing Abx.

I wish you a short course of her this time.

You've been given great advice already.

If it's of any comfort to you, I had some very mild peripheral nervous system symptoms when my LLMD took me off abx.

He wanted me to continue treating with an herbal protocol and I started with Cowden. Well, I had one of my worst herxes.

Same thing happened when I switched to Buhner.

I finally broke the plateau I'd been on and feel thisclose to full healing. Only time will tell.

And, yes, up your detox - it surely helps.

Thanks everyone. Its so discouraging after feeling so good for months. I go back to see my LLMD in January and will discuss everything with her. Until then I will up my detoxing for sure!
