Article on hair loss and lyme

I don't know if it is a symptom for many of you but it is for me sadly. Since I started feeling un well 5 1/2 years ago, I started noticing changes with my hair for the worse. It got dry, thinned out more and fell out. I would go through "waves" of increase hair loss over the last 5 years then it would calm down just to start again.

Anyways, since beginning treatment in August (4 months ago), for the past two months I've been losing more hair than before treatment.. this article explains why to me.. that it is most likely because of my treatment. Hopefully as I get further into my treatment, I notice improvements with my hair!

Just to cover all the bases....what do your most recent thyroid labs look like?

I've been taking thyroid hormone replacement since 2010 (well before the tick bite that infected me). My thyroid went low quite recently and I'm dealing with the usual hair loss that accompanies these changes. That's why I asked ;)

What translates into a "great" TSH level?

Please know that healthy people have TSH between .3 and 1.0

Anything over that is suspect for hypothyroidism. Immune health depends on a properly-functioning thyroid...

I would be beseiged with hyPO symptoms if I had TSH .3 - faggetabout 1.0 lol

I joined the 20% of Graves' patients who go hypo after remission - it's all because of my TSH receptor antibodies....and those antibodies skew TSH low.

I take thyroid hormone replacement and, on a "good" day, my TSH is .007. More often than not, it's virtually undetectable ( like <.005)

TSH does not tell an accurate story.
