What does everyone think of this guys protocol? Cured of Lyme twice.

I am with Razzle and a few others that replied that this seems to be for people with an early form of LD, not having an immune system that's on early retirement... smilewinkgrin

Doxycycline is indicated for once a day dosing, but most doctors dose it twice a day.

Okay so I wonder if I should take the leap of faith and try his protocol exactly? I got rid of like 99.9% of them. Maybe his protocol might work for someone like me?

I am just getting butchered... I have been pulsing tinidazole for 6 days now... : (. 1 gram a day, I would rather take his 250 mg every other day.

So one mino and 1 tind every other day?

Well one thing that makes sense is the low low dose of a few different abx would prevent the body from getting too toxic which further destroys our immune system. Sounds like just a little help and let the body do it's thing. Or it may just keep stuff at bay and in dormancy. Who knows.....
Isn't it Buhner who says people should not herx? There are baying opionions on whether you should stay at the dose you are on if you're herxing or titrate down. I believe many think tx should NOT make you feel worse. Interesting stuff.

Not sure yet... It is a very good effective antibiotic for the illnesses that I have and and can knock it out pretty good.

Good Options I will consider that I have not yet tried:

-cefdinir
-biaxin
-factive

My other option if I need to is trying this method of pulsing the minocycline and tinidazole every other day. 100 mg minocycline and 250 mg tinidazole. I may attempt to try that.

Most research I have done suggests the combo of:

Minocycline + tinidazole + Plaquenil is probably the best most effective combo for Borrelia. Maybe I need to pulse the 3 of these every other day?

I may cut down my Plaquenil dose in half now, the 400 mg I think is too much. I keep reading that this drug accumulates in tissues over time and can take months to get out of the tissues, possibly one of the reasons why it is effective against the cyst form. I can't find any clear research on this one.

hey ya'll, i'm still here, I'm still 100% Lyme symptom free after more than 3 years since the second bite in May of 2012!

Just to clear up some confusion, sometimes we forget how badly Lyme messes up our ability to think and remember and even read.

The pulsed protocol I used consisted of one 100 mg Minocycline and one 250 mg Tinidazole (tindamax) every other day for 42 days.

(NOTE: Keep 3 of each because in the two weeks following the 6 week protocol you may have a Lyme symptom re-surface from a biofilm colony. If, after the 42 days of pulsed Mino/Tindy any symptoms re-surface take one of each of the Mino/Tindy.)

The one dose of Doxy I recommended is just to knock out all the ones actively in normal cell division. It should be followed immediately by the 42 day pulsed protocol of Mino/Tindy to kill the rest of them.

The most important thing you can do is find a source of Thiocyanate (-SCN). It is the antioxidant that the Immune System uses to keep from self-destructing when it oxidizes bacteria and toxins.

All seeds, beans, fruits with edible seeds, nuts, grains, and some edible greens have Amygdalin in them which all mammals use to make Thiocyanate and benzylaldehyde (The body uses benzylaldehyde to break down cysts.)

[Of late I have a sneaky feeling that Monsanto GM'd the amygdalin of their food and feed grains and are starting on veggies now!]

I'd say that is ridiculous. We need like a bomb full of "stuff" here and it's still not enough... and I mean ALL stuff abx, detox, herbs..... one pill, yeah right.... LP, you know better!

I'd say use this protocol with caution, and to be honest I might even discourage this protocol. However I still believe it beats Lyme, there might be coinfections that become the issue and then someone may confuse their symptoms with coinfections symptoms like what I did.

Because I pulsed the antibiotics on and off, my bartonella is now resistant to antibiotic treatment or so I believe as the symptoms increased but are at a stalemate. So the abx are working but only very little which is heartbreaking because I was experimenting with this treatment and that treatment and having 2 Lyme doctors which was a very bad idea to be honest as one told me to do this and another told me to do that. Now the Bart is drug resistant, and my treatment would have been complete had I just kept taking the abx for 2-4 more months.

Anyways my ramblings for the day... Beware of coinfections which can become treatment resistant like my bartonella did.

A potential problem is that Amygdalin is potentially toxic and when combined with certain GI bacteria and supplements, it could cause major issues. A fine line would have to be walked between not enough and too much.

LP - you never pulsed the Rifampin, did you?

If you just pulsed your 'lyme' meds - would bart become resistant?

Mister Mike - I did and i think it helped? Anyways I bought more sida and houttuynia but I'm going to wait until the new year before I start again. Now that I think about it, I used those herbs a year ago in combination with the abx and I did get to no Bart symptoms, maybe that is what I need to do?

Girlie- yes I did pulse Lyme meds. I have a belief that Lyme doesn't get resistant very easy, really 1 generational cycle per month? It's so slow growing, but Bart can get resistant much faster. I never pulsed rifampin, but I did take it multiple times. Twice actually.

I see why LLMDs stress the importance of addressing co-infections first as they can become resistant to abx, and you end up in situations where you may never get over a co-infection. Dr.B has stressed the importance of this and has noticed it when he was treating co-infection patients. The more failures of treatment the more difficult it gets to treat the co-infected patient. E.g. Bartonella treatment resistant strains emerge, as do babesia resistant strains. It turns out that simply treating more aggressively and for longer the first time around would have been the better choice, the more effective treatment, and in the long run probably involving less medication overall.

Also I want to stress that for cured twice.... He did 3 weeks of cipro 2 weeks after his first bout with Lyme. So if he got bartonella he would have likely cleared it then. Second time, who knows? He also used the artemisin... Who knows maybe that got his Bart as well?

But I still believe this protocol worked for him... My LLMD just says for 99% of people it won't work lol.

I need to transition to a herbal protocol.

But good news is I believe Lyme, and anaplasma are gone and I feel mostly well...

My issue is circulation issues... I have pin pointed all my remaining symptoms to issues with my cardiovascular circulation. So basically bartonella. Foot aches, mild red rash on extremities that comes and goes... Etc

A lot of the time, circulation issues are copper and/or Vitamin K related.

Not any answer to your question but I know someone who has healed her lyme infection TWICE with Bee Venom Therapy! ❤️

Thanks for that info Georgia... I should be more open to other issues that might be going on in my body. But something tells me there's a disease still floating around in my blood. Why are these gram negative bartonellas so hard for me to kill?

Mister mike - good point. I need to focus more on the immune system. Also detoxing. I got the liposomal glutathione and some liposomal vitamin C. I hope that helps.

In the New Years I'm going to focus a much more concentrated Bart treatment. Mainly with the buhner protocol.

How is your treatment coming along Mr.Mike?

Bee venom therapy? I think it's out for me as it's just not available where I live and I would have to travel. Hmm... Maybe I just need to travel for it. My issue is not Lyme anymore, if I do still
Have Lyme it's no longer active, it's either Bart, or something else but I strongly believe it's Bart.

Well I don't travel for it, do it at home, my family helps me and I self sting. I also have Bart plus Lyme...I am improving! Email me if you would like more info....oh and it's really inexpensive!!! I at 5 months of treatment.

Pickle, we all have other issues going on in our body. You just don't have bartonella, you have a lot of other stuff going wrong and most of us are like that. Most of the time, I don't think bartonella is a problem for us if you just have bartonella. I think it's the combination of bartonella with something else that causes problems. I'm not fully convinced we can eradicate some pathogens from our body. I think we can knock their numbers back enough to recover, but I haven't seen any evidence that shows complete eradication. I feel this is why so many people struggle with bartonella. Yes, it's difficult to kill, but other stuff is causing problems and killing the bartonella doesn't effect those pathogens.

Everyone is different when it comes to fighting these little ******s. For example I knew someone who had Lyme for 8 years and got symptom free in 8 months and has been for years. For me I started treating after getting infected for 6 months and it's been 9 months and I still have symptoms. That's not fair! Well it has nothing to do with fair it has to do with your immune system, bug variety/quantity, how your body responds to certain herbs/drugs, etc. It's truly a case by case so while people can tell us what worked for them ultimately it comes down to what works for you.

In response to LymePickle, I can say the Cefdinir/Tinidazole combination worked very well for me and more or less knocked out my Lyme related symptoms. The 3rd generation cephalosporins are very good at eradicating Lyme and the Tinidazole is pretty much the go to for treating all 3 forms of Lyme.

Rikky - my Lyme symptoms are totally gone. I did this protocol. . This protocol actually worked for my Lyme symptoms believe it or not.
I'm just saying if people have co-infections this protocol isn't going to work... I even did the wild cherry bark like Will is so pationate about using and it did indeed induce a herx... However I'm more on the side that taking wild cherry bark is more on the toxic side... I guess all antibiotics are toxic to a certain degree obviously varying. But my Lyme i actually believe is long gone and if it wasn't gone it got smoked multiple times from my chronic Bart treatment.

I vote bartonella is just being a pain for me to get rid of... That really is all I have, but probably other issues too like for example vitamin K deficiency from being on abx so long.

I just feel like the abx I am on worked better before and are less effective now... It's almost like they are still working but they are working to a lesser extent... Anyways I'm still like 95% well and I realize I'm hardly even sick... I just want to be 100% and off of all medications! I still have minor issues...

Georgia... Thanks for your posts. I realize there are other issues. For example I got thyroid issues now... And believe it or not I ironically tested myself for heavy metals the same year before I got Lyme and I have high (just touching the high zone) for both lead and Mercury. I think you smoked bartonella with levaquin? I never did try a fluroquinolone. In the New Years I'm gonna try buhners protocol all the way. Continue with my thyroid medication, ATP fuel, and I'm on the bulletproof diet still. But really here I am stuck at 95% well still on antibiotics... But ya I supplement vitamin K as per Dave Aspreys recommendations.

Anyways I am also not convinced my Bart is gone, and also convinced it is somewhat resistant to macrolide antibiotics now. Yet it keeps the symptoms down? Not sure about this Bart, I think I got a nasty strain like bacilliformsis or something.

But ya to be honest I think Wills protocol works... Just if you have co-infections most people with Lyme won't beat their co-infections. So his protocol beats Lyme, but if you got Bart it just won't work. The latest research confirms pulsing is the best way to kill Borrelia... But research shows Bart requires continuous and consistent treatment of abx, pulsing just doesn't work for Bart.

I just wanted to say Merry Christmas all and hopefully your Lyme treatment is 100% successful and you all return to good health.

I think the main message about this post is ... It's not just Borrelia... It could be co-infections... It could be vitamin K deficiency, it could be immune dysfunction, it could be mitochondrial dysfunction, it could be many different things. People should not think it's all Borrelia causing the symptoms because it just isn't. But yet the "cured twice protocol" I do believe beats Borrelia... But not Bart, or babesia so "Lyme" disease is actually a multitude of
Health problems that stems from the mess that is Lyme disease.

Exactly!!

And that's why the great Dr. H coined the term MSIDS (Multi System Infectious Disease Syndrome) which more accurately describes our situation.
