LLMD in Maryland/DC Area that takes insurance?

Hi, have posted once before in another thread with no luck, so figured I'd try a new post. Symptoms, mainly visual and cognitive, for almost exactly 2 years. A friend had similar symptoms, had lyme, and recovered completely over 3 years. Had some unexpected relief with a 4-month stint of Doxy that my GP put me on after about 8 months of ruling other things out. That was Sept '14- Jan '15. Getting tiring spinning my wheels on this. Would like to see a LLMD for evaluation. I live in Montgomery County MD, so somewhere in MD near DC would be ideal but I'm willing to travel, of course. Please share a Dr if you have one...I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Happy to go more in depth if need be.

Dr. A. V. an GBMC.... One problem.... They need you to be sent there by your primary Care and you already should be diagnosed with lyme in order for them to see you.... makes no sense...
Highly recommend Dr. M. S. in Columbia, but he does not accept insurance...

Can someone, plese e-mail me a good LLMD that takes insurance too, please and does not require already being diagnosed?
I have 99% of the Lyme disease symptoms, Igm 23 positive during the summer but told that I do not have Lyme disease... getting worse...
need help. Made an appointment with Dr. M. S. in Columbia- he doe snot take insurance but he is brilliant, but I have to wait for him for a few months - this is how much in demand he is...

Hi Planny, welcome to our community!

I have edited both your posts...to remove the Dr.'s full names. We don't post the names of LL Dr.'s on here for privacy reasons. (We need our Docs to be safe from investigation )

I don't know if the Dr.'s you mentioned are true LLMD's...and following ILADS guidelines rather than the IDSA guidelines...but I wanted to be safe.

It would be a good idea for you to enable your email option so members can send you the names privately (as I mentioned above - we don't post them on here).

You can email the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance at [email protected]​ for LLMD referrals.


You can go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:
