Lyme without painful joints?

Hi everyone,
I'm not doubting my Lyme diagnosis at all but I have probably had it decades and have never had any painful joints (thankfully!). I have just about all the other, primarily extreme fatigue and insomnia, POTS, stabbing pains, air hunger, temperature dysregulation, severe emotional issues, bladder , GI pain, neuropathy, and brain fog so I'm probably forgetting stuff. By far the worse are insomnia and fatigue. Can Lyme cause all these other symptoms before t not joint issues?

Everyone has a different set of symptoms. We are all unique in that regard.

Yes, you can have all those other symptoms, but not joint issues.

One of the reasons, I didn't even test for Lyme disease for many months, is I would see on the website - bulls eye rash (nope), flu-like symptoms (nope), fatigue (nope).

I would then move on...

I have never had the fatigue. I have not had one day where I have been in bed until noon (or longer).
I sometimes have a nap in the afternoon...but if I don't, I'm okay.

I talked to someone from my city...who didn't have any pain...her symptoms were almost all psychiatric. She had terrible anxiety.

So, it's different for every one.

I just got diagnosed with lyme and I have no joint pain. I have been sick for a very long time though.

I had only joint pain for a long time . Learned to ignore it i wish i hadnt. It does seem worse in old injuries .scars have all resurfaced. Like ones from when i was a kid.im not yet 40..makes me wonder how long i have had this

Lyme is accompanied by a myriad of co-infections, right/? We all have different combinations of infections, such as; several to maybe just one virus. I have almost all of the herpes viruses ie; cmv, ebv, hsv1 & 2, & reactivation of hhv6! those viruses are worse than the bacteria that can be eradicated w/antibiotics. there are no cure for viruses, only treatments! I also have chlamydophila pneumonia bacteria and mycoplasma which both cause joint pain.

you're SO lucky if you don't have joint pain. my knuckles and knees lock up and it is so painful when I have to force them to straighten out!

I know I'm lucky to have little joint pain but I have been disabled by POTS and the fatigue has had me housebound for more than a year. I can't tell you what I would give just to go somewhere other than Drs. Thanks for the replies. This disease bloody sucks.

i have neuro symptoms, interstitial cystitis (bladder), MDD, pain in my eyes, chostochondritis, a painful rash, insomnia, rage (!!), I startle easily, lights and sound sensitivities, neuropathy, tremors.

No painful joints and no fatigue and no flu-like symptoms!

LL: I don't have pain other than occasional pain behind my left rib and chest pain, it's not severe enough for me to take medication. I just deal with it. My main symptoms are sound sensitivity to loud sounds, debilitating weakness to the point that I spend most of my time lying down, headaches and a few others which are very minor.

I'm not driving due to my fatigue and have missed out on a lot. I don't go anywhere other than dr appts. You are not alone.

I haven't travelled in a long time due to my symptoms and would love to even do a weekend road trip somewhere but it's not possible.

Have hope and faith that you will get through this and get to the finish line. I look forward to the future and the things I'll be able to do when I'm better. I do my very best to stay positive. It helps a lot.

I never have had joint pain, fatigue , low energy is my worst with bloating thrush and brain fog

DS 14 has a hugely swollen knee from Lyme but has not yet had the painful joints. He has been sick for almost 16 months, swollen since April 2015.

Hey sweetpeaisme, which LAB did your Mycoplasma testing and which test was it? PCR or Serology( Igm, igg)? Did they test for a specific strain(fermentans, penetrant)or general mycoplasma? I asked my doc to test me for Myc but we don't know where to get it done. Info will be greatly appreciated!

I did not have any joint pain until after I started treatment and it occasionally happened as a herx.
