Welcome Sprint!
Sorry for the reason you're here but glad you found us.
Please know that testing for the coinfections is less reliable than Lyme testing. Since tick saliva is basically a salad bowl, it's entirely possible you are dealing with one or more coinfection for which a test might not even exist.
I say this because there are more strains of Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella than tests available. That list of unavailable tests for infections could very well extend further.
All of that said, these infections are best diagnosed clinically - based upon symptoms.
Now that I've been on this forum for over one year, I can tell you that the majority of us are often dealing with more infections than those originally diagnosed.
Sometimes people receive a new diagnosis based upon their herx symptoms.
Japanese Knotweed is a potent anti-inflammatory but source/preparation of the herb can make a huge difference. I've always used sources recommended by Buhner.
Please know that resveratrol is NOT Japanese Knotweed - it's an isolated constituent when the whole herb is known to be more effective.
Samento is TOA-free Cat's Claw (Buhner takes exception to the need for TOA-free Cat's Claw. He says that the study showing it to be superior is flawed. And, it was funded by the manufacturer of Samento). Still, people have found Samento effective (I herxed on it and it sounds like you did, too).
Since Lyme and Co's suppress our immune system, I'm not surprised (but am sorry) that you've been catching colds.
It sounds like you are herxing with everything you try (sorry). That tells me you need to increase detoxing (as most of us do).
The link below explains why you need to detox and provides quite the comprehensive list of detox methods:
www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.htmlMy signature tells my story. And, I've become a self-admitted Buhner groupie lol His healing philosophy makes a LOT of sense to me.
Without a doubt, you should hold off on more dose increases until you tame your current herx.
Treating these infections is a marathon, not a race. Not only do we need to kill the bugs, we need to rebuild our immune systems and help heal the organs under attack while stopping the cytokine cascade. All of this takes time....a lot of time.
The good news is that we can heal.
Hope you'll visit often - this is a wonderful community of caring and knowledgeable people. We understand what you're going through and can share tips to help make the journey easier.
Hang in - better days are coming!
