Acne and treatmeant

I was wondering if my face is breaking out because of my treatment? I'm 5 months into my Lyme treatment (however, still haven't gotten to my max dosage of my herbal antibiotics. Working up slowly.) My face has been breaking out EXTRA bad lately. Been probably 2 months like this now, esp the last couple weeks being extra bad. I haven't worn makeup in 4 days now as I've given it up because I don't want to irritate my skin more.

Is this a common side effect of treatment? Is this a sign of toxins being killed off? I just don't understand why my face is so bad and what I can do about it.

I'm 27, never had acne as a teenager.. It wasn't until I was 22 or so that I started getting some which started after I starting feeling sick (which I know now it was Lyme causing me to be sick) but the acne was minimal. Not the case now! It is embarrassing.

It can be due to a variety of things - acne is bacteria, so it can be die off, or it can also be related to the dosage of probiotics you are taking (too much or not enough).

Are you taking any probiotics? what happened with me was, when I was done with treatment, that's when I was breaking out. But I discovered that it was because the probiotic I continued to take was actually too strong for me. When I lowered the probiotic dose, the acne went away.

also, if you have candida issues, that can cause acne as well.

not sure the cause in your case, but i thought i would throw out some possibilites.

It's also a sign of your body pushing those toxins through the skin. The skin is the largest detoxing organ we have. I always watch my skin for signs of what's going on inside of me.

As irritating as it is, yes it can be a good thing as it may just be from your body pushing out the toxins - as long as it's not from candida.

I used to get large boils when I would put too much stress on my body, so it can also serve as a warning. Try making sure your diet is clean for Candida, and washing your skin (gently) with a good cleanser. I like using coconut oil on my skin (still!!) as it also has antibacterial activity, so it helps prevent breakouts from surface bacteria.
