Much media interest coming to Lyme Disease...IMO

Many articles are pounding the media....some big names coming out with Lyme Disease...half of the Counties across US have it now and numbers are growing.

Many here and other boards have been suffering for a long time....and trying to help others)

All your posts and great info could soon help many thousands of people,the numbers will be staggering once ALL are tested every year or so?

Lyme...with co infections mycoplasma,candida,ebv.....symptoms started last year...LLMD figured it out after 10 to 15 other Drs visits....including specialists.

Same here. First visit two years ago was with a "Lyme specialist" practice (Did not see MD, saw Naturopath in the practice...it was cheaper.) She missed it. I have seen several other MD's: cardiologist, pulmonologist, surgeons, rheumatologist, DO. Told them all I thought I had Lyme, nobody believed me.

Feels so good to be here and to find others with similar experiences!

From CT.....moved to Florida,been here for a few years....symptoms started,gut issues and so on.

I do not blame the Doctors.....LLMDs should now officially have the power to utilize EVERY option to secure any patients health and work with any Doctor that is interested.....for a patients sake.

Now I fight on a daily basis....diet,light exercise,supplements,abx,now even introducing erbs,I agree with my llmd....this will be a marathon.

End of day fatigue and light neuro sensations are pretty bad at times.

Trying to figure out what will work,some very smart people on this board,glad I found it)

Me too. I'm learning amazing things here.

I think "blame" is a big problem, I do try not to do it. I hold myself responsible for not pushing harder...I've known I had Lyme all along. The importance of listening to my instincts instead of trusting experts is a lesson I've had to learn repeatedly this lifetime.

Hi - yes, I've noticed more media awareness as well - Something on CNN today, but I didn't catch the story.

But this is good news:

There is a new data survey on the LymeDisease/dot/org website called My Lyme Data. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the link, as I recall there are certain rules about these things.

But in essence, they're trying to collect as much data as they can from Lyme patients all over the U. S. and will be expanding to other countries soon. I signed up - it's a bit time consuming and not as thorough as I would have liked it to be, but I think it's a great beginning for collecting data and could really bring attention to Lyme disease and all of the obstacles we encounter.

A Quote: "MyLymeData expects to gather more data about Lyme disease than any research study has done before. Consider this: The largest Lyme disease trial funded by the National Institute of Health enrolled only 64 patients in the treatment group. Our patient surveys draw over 9,000 responses! We’ll use the information provided by patients to help figure out how to prevent and treat all stages of Lyme disease. It’s that simple."

The problem is that the "other side" (CDC and others) - are ramping up their push against us too.

Their newest thing? Lyme Corps:
"Lyme Corps participants currently work in collaboration with the CDC and the Vermont Department of Health to educate health care providers and community members about Lyme disease. Activities range from giving presentations in classes and communities, distributing information to outdoor-type clubs, attending farmers’ markets, and writing articles for local publications. These activities will continue throughout the summer and potentially into the fall across the state."

New here Traveler.....I cant believe the treatment the Lyme community has received....and for such a long period of time.

Every person should make a phone call or email a few times per week to all media,medical....and so on,start using Chronic Lyme Disease....I heard this 1 month ago and here I am.

I have so much respect for the people and posts.....to help others suffering...I can only look at this screen for another few minutes (light sensitivity)

However,I will be using my phone.....already have been,people need proper diagnosis and treatment.

Health crisis? test every person,standard cbc...just add igenex? i wonder how many show positive....then you have those that will still be negative......until.....we all know the rest.
