Amen Kim!!! What a great post!
I couldn't agree more!
You know, there are countless people walking around with these infections and they don't even know it. How can that be, you might wonder. Well, their immune systems are so strong that the infections are kept under control.
I happen to have links as this concept relates to two of the more common coinfections:
www.cdc.gov/parasites/babesiosis/"Although many people who are infected with Babesia do not have symptoms, for those who do effective treatment is available."
www.cdc.gov/bartonella/clinicians/index.html"Most cases of cat scratch disease (CSD) resolve without treatment", although some patients may develop complications from disseminated disease.
Dealing with these infections isn't like dealing with bronchitis. They are complex and their effects are magnified the more infections the individual is dealing with.
There's no express route to healing. Infections like TB and Q Fever can sometimes require months/years of treatment. Lyme and Co's are no different.
My LLMD (and my research ;) tell me that the mild symptoms I've had as a result of these infections are due to the strength of my immune system.
Yet, I am still treating 18 months after the tick bite. My signature shows the chronology of my treatment. Had I been in better hands from the get-go, I doubt I'd still be in treatment right now but I know I'd still be detoxing and continue to take immune support stuff - I plan on doing that for the rest of my life....it just makes sense to me.
If you want to beat the infections you have, you need to rebuild your immune system....especially if you don't want to get sick again.
Kim outlined a great plan for you.....hope you find something that works!
