Tell my Neurologist or my GP about symptom changes?

Well I don't think I have much choice. I contacted my Neurologist to see if I can get an appointment, and was told he has signed me off.

My experience with lyme disease is that my neurologist doesn't believe I have lyme. My doctor (internal medicine doc) won't discuss it with me. My LLMD is a regular family doctor at heart and loves to discuss and focus on other things. I got tired of doctors, I am on my own with herbs. I may return to a doctor some day, but right now, I have had my fill of them. I can either be their guinea pig and try what they "guess" or I can be my own guinea pig and guess.

For now I am saving just a wee bit of money and being my own guinea pig. I'm holding my own, but some days I wish someone would take over and do this for me. I am so impatient.

So you don't have a LLMD? We might be able to help you find one. It definitely sounds like you could have Lyme and possibly other tick-borne infections. Here are the resources I usually share for finding a LLMD - have you gone through them all?

Completely off topic, but I have to mention - Your screen name is spelled exactly the same way as my family name (Stuart). I have cousins/nephews with that first name and my own brother has it as a middle name. It's been passed down through my family for many, many generations.

Unfortunately Stuart, a neurologist nor a GP is going to be able to help you if your symptoms are caused by Lyme. Hopefully one of the options Girlie gave you will pan out.

I will certainly email you a couple of names...but I am waiting to hear back from another new member - if they are even good referrals.

We do have a few UK members...I suggest that you start a new thread...asking for LL Dr.'s in the UK and hopefully one of our UK members will see it and respond.

I do see your email is enabled...and i will send you the information...you can at least make phone calls - are you needing to get tested ...or have you already and are looking for treatment?

My friend in London has not been tested yet but it is a definite possibility that she has Lyme, so any of the information I can give her would be very helpful I think.

I have been dealing with it more personally with my son who has been extremely sick for a long time. Unfortunate typical Lyme story, and then we got to Dr. L who is fantastic but did not help for us. We are now with Dr. H and my son has been making some improvements.

Hi there UK dwellers :)

I was diagnosed and am being treated by a doc in the UK (she's an retired GP who treats Lyme, but isn't constrained by the NHS sillyness of 28 days of doxy.

I have can give you the name of the Dr, the clinic, info about costs etc if any one in the UK is looking for a dactor :) I have sent the details to StuartEE and I will gladly pass on details to anyone else. Raybogp, I will try and send you an email, too :)

Just so as you are aware that a neuroligist in the UK will be about as much help as a dead headgehog in a bag, sadly, and I got no joy through my GP (nice and friendly but unable to help me) or the Infectious Diseases Department at the RVI in Newcastle.....28 days of doxy and you are outta there :(

That said I have been treating via this doctor (and a herbal protocol which I am doing on my own, this doc is a medical practitioner, NOT a herbalist) and am now doing a million times better :) I hope that I can pass on something helpful to you guys.
