Inability to walk normally.

Has anyone lost the use of a leg from Lymes? I am not able to walk without help due to my left leg not being able to hold me up. It is also painful, but the pain changes places constantly. I have a lot of symptoms of Lymes and have been checked with the Elisa test twice and both times it was negative. I have sent for the Western Blot test from Igenix, but am wondering if I am grasping at straws. The reason I ask is that I have not seen the loss of the use of a limb as a symptom. Thank you!

Yes I have watched that. But none of the symptoms seemed to match mine. I just can't put weight on my leg to walk. I have to hang onto things and use a walker to hold myself up. I do use a wheel chair when out with my husband. I have been to Mayo for a lot of testing. They think it is neurological but can find not reason why. The Dr. called it Ataxia. I had to quit my job and go on Disibility because of it.

Leg weakness and pain were some of my first symptoms. I have not been able to walk by myself since December. I dont leave the house alone anymore because I cant walk when I get to where I am going. The doctor finally gave me a form to get a handicap sticker for my car. I was diagnosed with lyme disease December 22, 2015 through Igenex. My legs got much worse on doxycycline for six weeks but now the doctor is having me take a break from antibiotics and I am doing a little better again. Apparently I was herxing badly. Her Dad had to carry her up the stairs...and coming down the stairs, she sat on her rear.

I believe the Dr.'s told her parents that she needed to see a psychologist.

There is also a Dr. who was diagnosed with ALS - Dr. Martz...and he treated for lyme and got better.
He was in Under Our skin, as well.

My husband and I just watched both of those Under Our Skin shows a few nights ago. Though painful to watch, they were so powerful and eye opening.

I believe the girl you are speaking of, in the first one, was the young ballet dancer who lost use of her legs. And as you said, the happy ending was that she could walk again in the sequel - and had such an amazing spirit.

I lost the use of my legs for about a year (I used crutches to get around) when I had chronic lyme as well as severe pain in both my legs (felt like tiny knives inside my legs). This was the most painful part of my body that lyme affected. When this happened I was not diagnosed with lyme yet but just knew I was very, very sick..

As the years went on and I found out I had lyme I had learned about detoxing thanks to people on a forum (not this one) and started the detox baths, dry skin brushing, etc. I got my legs back and was able to do aerobic exercising which I still continue. Back then I also started Dr. Jernigan's protocol and I think between taking Borrelogen (as well as other botanicals) and detoxing it healed me.
