Brief synopsis a month ago starting treating a potential Bartonella infection for the first time using Rifampin and Cipro. Two weeks in numbness in hands/feet, swollen lymph nodes, chest pain and higher fatigue put me in ER but heart was fine. Doctor changed me just to Rifampin until I saw him today.
Got a bunch of blood work done and I'm deficient in Vitamin D3 and B complex. Adding to my supplements Vitamin K2/D3, DHEA, Basic B Complex and MTHF. In 2 weeks will add Biaxin at night and keep Rifampin in morning so they don't overlap. Waiting 2 weeks so we can see if new supplements have any kind of adverse reaction.
I questioned why Biaxin as its a macrolide and I've been on Zithro forever and he said they work differently. I also mentioned why not a Tetracycline or back on Cipro didn't really get an answer lol.
Been regressing the past 4 days with symptoms returning which might be telling me the Rifampin only isn't enough to keep the buggers at bay.
Thoughts on approach? Thanks.
