This is definitely worth reading.

Every county in CA! WOW! when it is citing those estimated infections are those only cases that are counted by the CDC? I am not a CDC lyme patient because I did not have 5 bands.

I'm not sure Annette. I follow Bay Area Lyme Foundation on Facebook. If you are on FB you could comment on this latest post and ask that question. Someone typically responds to comments that include questions.

To me at least, with those kinds of numbers being recognized by the CDC that's a huge first step to getting insurance companies having to provide coverage. That has to happen. The financial burden of getting well adds to the stress of the illness. It's a double whammy that has to be eliminated.

Bay Area Lyme Foundation exists because a few heavy hitters in the Tech industry here in the Bay Area have dealt with Lyme and co within their own families. It's why they are so active in the fight.

The hard part is getting insurance to pay when your tests are inconclusive.

The harder part is getting them to pay after 28 days of antibiotics even though you are still positive on all the main IgG and IgM bands and still registering positive on all the tests.

To this day, I still cant get coverage and the doctors can literally pull active lyme from my joint fluids.
