He said it is "long lasting" as he put it. I think it is 2.4 mil so from 2 needles or something I am not completely sure, that is what the pharmacist said. I was just curious if anyone has gotten this before, if it was roughly same dosage and how it made them feel improvement wise. My general doctor said that is the last thing he is "legally" allowed to try in Canada. Also my brain has been so bad the last couple of week my mom called Alberta health and asked if they cover my cost to see the doctors out of province or in the USA for lyme. They said they would cover partial costs for the visits and they said get all the papers together for exactly what IV treatments you need etc and they will figure something out. So anyone in Canada talk to the health care because they seemed really shocked when my mom said they won't cover lyme...

Thanks for the info jrpsf, didn't realize the shot would be that intense. I already have to give myself 1.5 inch IM shots to my leg every week due to a genetic condition that I have.
I was curious if the penicillin injection was stronger than say antibiotics orally, because I have already done 1 month of amoxicillin to 1 month rifampin to 3 months of doxycline 2 months 100 x 2 times a day 1 month at 200 x 2 a day.
This was him thinking this was the next step, your thoughts on that?

The link is for bicillin. I think your doctor would have said Bicillin. If that's what he is going to give you then at the dosage your going to get it's still found in your blood stream for up to 14 days. The kicker is this-Highest levels are found in the kidneys with lesser amounts in the liver, skin, and intestines. Penicillin G penetrates into all other tissues and the spinal fluid to a lesser degree.

I was never on doxy. Imo amox is a dated drug and doesn't do much. It stops the disease from replicating but doesn't kill. What dosage of Rifampin were you on and what else were you taking with it? The common dosage for Lyme patients is 600 mg once a day. It's most effective when paired with something else. I took it with Biaxin and Alinia. I think I took 500 mg of Biaxin 2 times a day and 500 mg of Alinia 3 times a day, pulsing the Alinia. It's extremely common to be on a combination of typically 2 abx's, often pulsing one of them.

I'm with you. I have zero issue with needles yet shots get old. I just started doing ozone therapy. I think that's going to be very interesting and very helpful. I'd love to get my brain back. I'm tired of having to pause and input other words or wrong words. Quick Iv's twice a week.
This will only make sense if you are a sports fan. I was explaining the end of the Warriors game on Saturday to my dad who turned the game off with under a minute left. I couldn't come up with "free throw" so I said penalty shots. My whole family are hockey fans so my dad knew what I meant but it's so annoying. I want my memory back to what it was before.

I have Pacific Blue Cross here in BC and most of my medications are 80% covered. My LLND appointments are 80% covered for approximately half of the year.

Let me know how you do with the Province helping out with your medical costs. I hope they do.
I haven't heard of anyone from my Province getting any help with going to the U.S. for treatments. Hopefully Alberta health care proves to be different.

Also, if you come to BC - you will most likely be seeing a ND, not an MD...and will that be covered with your Provincial health plan?
