So sorry you're in this place!

It *is* hard to stay positive when treating these wretched infections. It takes so very long to heal from them and the path to wellness is often convoluted.

I would hope that the herbal protocol will address all aspects of healing, including killing. Truly, successful treatment means that the immune systems has been restored to the place that can stay ahead of whatever havoc the bugs might try to wreak.

What does your new doctor have to say as far as which infections you have? What herbal protocol will you be following?

Herbs can pack quite the punch and it seems they are often used by LLMD's for "cleanup" after abx.

While it's taking me a long time to heal, herbs have brought me from the 90% I hit on abx to ~98%. I'm still working on that final 2% and I suspect it's going to take some time.

More hugs this morning from the pacific northwest.....yours was the first post I read and my heart ached for you. It is all too familiar to hear of people with these infections having to work, having to be a parent, etc. all while feeling so ill, needing to heal and needing rest.

If you don't mind my asking, what did you feel like before stopping treatment? How is your liver doing now? I am assuming that your liver enzymes were high, which would lead to the liver detoxing and ceasing treatment scenario you've gone through this past month? Just looking for the "positive" in all of the pain you are going through....hoping that once you begin treatment once more, you might be able to get back to feeling better and stronger once more.

I haven't been in this forum long, only a few months, so I apologize if I am not aware of your personal story.

More hugs from Wisconsin! Those miserable days are so rotten and esp. when you have several in row without a break. The ruminating thoughts are def. part of the illness along with anger, sadness, crying for no particular reason.

Lately I've been contemplating high dose niacin to see if that would help the mental stuff.

You can do this - 2 years ago I was crying under my bed covers wishing I could just run away from it all. I could barely take care of my kids and nevermind housework and my job...... I was in so much pain, and at that moment, I never thought I could get well again, but I did, and you can too, it just takes time. To beat lyme I believe you need to have patience, endurance, and ambition. I am not sure of your religion, but if you pray - pray daily, it will help you cope. I will pray for you today, and Im sending you lots of hugs your way !!!

Many hugs from California too. The first word I had to learn when I got lyme was patience. I am still dealing with that word. I was scared to do antibiotics when I was first diagnosed because I was afraid of antibiotic resistant stuff and taking antibiotics could make an environment in my body where I could potentially be sicker than the illness I was treating (referring to Candida). I have watched 3 people in my extended family have MRSA and that stuff scares me. I had not been on antibiotics for over 25 years. Besides that I am kind of a health nut. But I took the antibiotics and was worried more about the harm than the good. After a time on antibiotics I felt absolutely no change, so I knew I had to change.

I switched to herbs and I got better and better. But... remember, I am a health nut and had excellent diet habits and detox methods prior to getting lyme. I was way ahead of the game of defeating lyme from the start.

I am almost healed. So much so that I am eliminating herbs from my protocol. (*Knocks on Wood!!*) I get scared every time I say that and I am the most uncomfortable healing person I know. I keep thinking it is a fluke and every twinge, itch, pain or whatever I think the lyme is back. It is ANOTHER test in patience.

I am a believer in the herbs. I also believe in detox and in a good diet.

Lyme has been nothing but lesson after lesson for me. I had such brain fog from the beginning and had to learn to be patience with myself. I had to learn to forgive myself for making a mistake. Something this type A personality never had to do before. Lyme taught me how to listen to my body. How does that affect me? Is that too much? Not enough? Lyme taught me about how we, as people, see illness. I don't look at people the same any more. I learned that people can have horrible owies inside them that we can't see. Feeling sorry for someone on crutches or with a neck brace always was felt, but there are people that have unseen illnesses that will last longer than that neck brace or crutches. Lyme has taught me a lot. Lessons I am grateful for learning.

Lyme has taught me to count my blessings even as I cried in head pain so horrible that I am sure I traumatized the receptionist at my doctor's office. I still think I owe her a treat.

I hope you take this time to get healthier. I really have to agree with your doctor about stopping and getting the organs ready to take on another fight. It is a tricky balancing act. It is like a well choreographed dance this balancing of diet, detox and medicine.

I honestly don't know how you work full time - never mind those crazy hours!

I am in pain daily, too...and it's what debilitates me to the point of not being able to confidently plan things. I never know what I'm going to feel like...and never mind work...
if I get stressed out - my nervous system ramps up...and voila - exacerbation of symptoms - more pain.

It is getting slowly, ever so slowly better for me, though.
But, I have been treating since July, 2014...but have had to take antibiotic breaks - so approximately 15/16 months of treatment.

You will get there...hang in there!

Backing off all & crashing, might be key (Flu bugs still going around don't help).

DaveNJ - I am about 99% right now. all i have left is tingling at the soles of my feet when I wake up. I am 100% functional- just have remaining Candida issues from taking antibiotics for so long. so i also "feel funny" when I eat the wrong foods, but this is due to candida

i was on 2 antibiotics at a time, bc my dr was treating me for lyme and bartonella. first doxy and zithro and then bactrim and zithro. I also took teasel root and serrazymes (biofilm busters), plus AL complex and a whole list of vitamins, including B12 and pc body bio for nerve repair. I treated for about 8 months.
