Parasites

There has been some discussion here lately about parasites, which led me to ask my LLMD about it (thanks UrsaMajor!). He prescribed Ivermectin (yep, they make it for people, too!), and I've felt a big improvement. For testing, my LLMD highly regards PCI. I didn't do the test, only because we saw parasites in my son's stool and just assumed that I likely had them, as well. On PCI's website, they have a great questionnaire to help you decide if parasite testing or treatment is something you should pursue:

I started a parasite cleanse having no clue I was on the right track, and the results were astonishing and immediate, as I've stated before (sorry to be redundant). My only symptoms at this point are different types of paresthesias - occasional numbness usually in the left corner of my mouth...occasional tingling in my feet......and occasional light twitches usually in my lower legs.

It is taking seemingly forever to eliminate these symptoms....maybe my nerves "just" need time to heal (and I'm taking sooo much stuff to help with that lol)

Arthritis and swimming in a lake are my culprits.

Believe you me, ursamajor, it was after reading your story that I got to thinking about parasites again. I remembered reading about the topic in Bryan Rosner's book.

Because my paresthesias are taking seemingly forever to dissipate, I'm on alert for possible hindrances to my healing.

The questionnaire was very helpful.

My only risk factor is lake swimming and I really didn't do much of it even though I live near a lake. I prefer to kayak ;)

I'm starting to sound like a cheesy infomercial, but given that this thread is about this...I want to add that, aside from GI issues, some forum members complain of terrible SINUS issues (sinus infections, allergies, ear pressure). I swear I kid you not, I can finally breathe again, whether in humidity or dry climates. I constantly had to put vicks in my nose to breathe. Since "parasite treatment" (which also works on yeast, fungus, you name it), no more sinus headaches, allergy symptoms....

Do you think paragone can achieve the same results? Also, any idea if you can stay on Buhner lyme herbs and do paragone?

I have treated with 5 days biltricide followed with tinidazole before. But I know biltricide only hits a few parasites. I want to do more but ivermectin seems harsh.

K07, My experience with the ivermectin so far hasn't been harsh at all. I haven't had any nasty side effects. In fact, I was having some intestinal symptoms that went away almost immediately with the first dose. I have been having some die-off symptoms, but detox has helped with those. But if you'd rather do herbs, I've heard good things about humaworm. I've bought some but haven't tried it yet.

I heard that parasites can be infected with borreliosis and thus the commen relapses. ..everyone has them..especially if you have ingested iceberg lettuce. ..ivermectin may have effect onnlyme its like a small worm...i heard tz needs to be 18 months to get egs hatching ..i saw rice little tjing after wormwood clove mix...blessed h erbs has good mix too

I have one question for those who took that quiz and tested fine - would that score have been the exact same before you started any Lyme and co-infection treatment, or a little higher but not too bad? Basically, have you ever had these symptoms before any antibiotic or herbal protocols.

I'm just gathering data for myself because this is a big issue for me - and I hope you don't mind my asking!

My high score was based on symptoms three months ago, before beginning any treatment...not symptoms TODAY which have improved so much WITH treatment.

I'm sorry I missed this question until now, ursamajor. I actually found this thread when searching by your name because I was looking for info on ADP Oil of Oregano. I just started it yesterday (1 cap with breakfast) as an experiment to see if some kind of parasite might be preventing the healing of my paresthesias.

I had no symptoms after the tick bite and herxed with a stiff neck on the doxy my PCP prescribed. She didn't know enough to extend/expand treatment. I developed some transient and mild paresthesias after going off doxy and decided to see a LLMD. My signature tells the condensed version of the rest of my story.

For whatever it's worth, I experienced at least 40 different symptoms (not all at the same time, thankfully) when I was on abx and then treating herbally.

The paresthesias remain....and it's only quite recently that the return of my Bells Palsy-type symptoms ala Buhner's protocols haven't been occurring daily.

I will tell you this much - my first dose of ADP Oil of Oregano yesterday resulted in some mild head/face pressure (? hard to describe)...but, my paresthesias seemed ever-so-slightly better.

I had the same type of pressure (?) when I started Allicin so I'm not sure what's up with that. I can't say I noticed any improvements from the Allicin, though.

Today is day 2 of 1 cap ADP....

How did you titrate your doses, ursamajor? I'm all on my own with this (my LLMD released me in October of last year and I just can't justify spending the money to see a different one when my symptoms are so mild)
