I worried about
the same thing. I had my 3 kids tested and they all had a few bands on the western blot through Labcorp, so we decided to have further testing done. My kids are pretty healthy with a few symptoms that could indicate lyme, hence the testing. Also, my instincts told me to pursue it.
My oldest (son) was perfectly healthy up until the Fall. He got a vaccine for school and developed swollen groin lymph nodes, muscle twitching/jerking at night, felt unwell and looked unwell (yellowish skin and circles under eyes). He also said he felt spacy. Shortly after developed some weird breathing episodes, swallowing issues and coughing. Most of those issues have cleared up on their own. His cd57 is high at 190, negative elispot, but I also did the Igenex western blot and he has bands 31 ind, 39 ind, 41, 58. Positive test for chlamydia pneum. Will likely retest for lyme but treating him anyway with herbs & abx.
My middle daughter complains of various things hurting, chest pains and started sleep walking. She has a cd57 of 30 and positive ELispot lyme test. Treating herbally only at the present. Will start abx soon.
My youngest daughter will sometimes shake or tremor, doesn't like certain noises - like a squeaky swing, temperature sensitive, and has red palms and feet that often get hot or burn. Had one episode at night of full body tremor. I decided to try the ISpot test for her and don't have results yet. Her cd57 is 57.
My husband started experiencing numbness in his toes just in the last month or so. He had bands 23 & 41 on labcorp western blot and positive Elispot lyme test. His cd57 is over 200. He is planning on treating with abx.
So yes, very likely. I recently saw someone posted that some doctors feel 1 in 15 have Lyme/co. I believe that.
