Does killing off Lyme release heavy metals?

Hello, I have posted on here about my unresolved liver issues after 6 months of antibiotics.

I am beginning to suspect that liver issues are from heavy metals, for various reasons, even though my labs do not show anything off the charts except arsenic. Maybe the metals I do have bother me more than they should.

I have heard that Lyme hide behind, or bind to heavy metals. If so, would killing them off then release all the metals into your organs and liver? Would make sense, however I am not sure.

Has anyone else had heavy metal problems after lyme die off?

Borrelia changes its outer surface proteins more than most bacteria which would lead me to believe that it does not sequester heavy metals. It has been shown that it does sequester manganese. I guess manganese is a metal and it is relatively heavy and is toxic in too high a concentration.

With that said, I do feel that heavy metals are a major issue with many Lyme patients. This is not necessarily because Borrelia binds heavy metals, but because other pathogens present do bind metals. Herxes are often metal or toxin related.

My understanding (and experience) is that heavy metals can make it more difficult to fight off an infection. I used to have a silver mercury filling in one of my teeth. I felt like Lyme & coinfection treatment had stalled out, until that filling came out. Then I went through over a month of intense babesia symptoms. Heavy metals themselves can put stress on the liver and kidneys. So do the infections themselves, and so do antibiotics (and some herbs).
