Okay so I met with a new LLMD yesterday for a second opinion. He was awesome (bit pricey though). He spent two hours with me, and performed multiple tests.
At the end of the appt, he said "You have Lyme.". He said now we need to figure how to treat. He is running more tests (mold, Candida, etc) before he starts treatment. He said other problems should be addressed before the lyme because they can often cause more problems than the Lyme itself.
He is ILADS trained, and also has Lyme himself. So he seemed quite knowledgeable about Lyme and co's and the additional illnesses they bring on. He also said when someone is symptomatic, no band on the tests should be ignored.
I also asked him about bacteria in the urine...and he said yes, this could be from Lyme. He said Lyme can infect the bladder just like any other organ, or it could have been flushed out of the body as waste from die-off.
I have multiple heart issues with Lyme, and he said Lyme "love" the heart muscle. He said he too had multiple heart issues before treatment, but not anymore.
I also met a family of four while I was waiting (mom, dad, two kids). The mom said she's had it for 30 years, and did not start getting better until after seeing this Dr. She stated her children got it in-utero.
And if intetested, the mom gave me the name of a Facebook group that she has been on for a while and said it is great. It is "Lyme Disease Group" (blue box w/white dove). I also referred her to this group :)
