Artemisinin, biaxin - and Long QT Syndrome

I have purchased my Artemisinin. I was going to drop the Rifampin for bart...and take the Artemisinin with biaxin and Ceftin but I went online and checked them out together - with a drug interaction report - and found that both biaxin and Art cause Long QT syndrome - so I'm back to the drawing board.
I'll take my chances with one having that risk...but not two together.



I could take Art, mino and Ceftin. Any thoughts? ideas?

Will you be taking anything else for Babesia?

I think you need to pair *some*thing "anti-Babesia" with Artemisinin to reduce the possibility of resistance.

Thanks, cd. I was going to ask for Mepron...but i'm having second thoughts. I don't really 'like' any of the Pharmaceutical protocols for Babesia.

I do know a few people who have done the Artemisinin on its own, but i don't know how they are now...many months later


I am on Cryptolepis and Sida Acuta....I wonder would those two herbs be enough?...(have just ordered the CSA blend from Woodland Essence) - or does it need to be another pharma babs treatment paired with the Art?

So i have super low iron ...is that definitely babs?

I have read that babesia causes destruction of the red blood cells...so thinking that would cause low iron.

I don't have that...though. I have these shivers that aren't getting any better...thought they were from bart...but I've been treating bart hard for 6-7 months now.

Don't want to leave any stones unturned...(or whatever that saying is...lol)

Ive treated bart, babs and borrellia ALL without any big pharma drugs...i used cryptolepsis tincture for 3 months and have used art. also. For Lyme and others I took a tincture combo for 1 and 1/2 years and bart, Borrellia, and babs are all negative!! Negative not InD's or positives, but negatives. Bart and babs symptoms mostly gone. Any symtpms I now have are from...

chlamydophilia, mycoplasma and virals are the persisters. The others were actually quite easy to erradicate.

What is long QT syndrome?

Long QT Syndrome is a heart condition that increases the risk of episodes of irregular heartbeats. This could trigger a sudden fainting spell, and in some cases cause sudden death. It can be inherited...but also can be brought on by certain medications. It is rare. Two of the meds that can cause it are: Azithromycin and Clarithromycin

So, taking two meds that can potentially cause it isn't something I want to do.

There isn't a lot of information on Artemisinin causing it....but I'm not taking the risk and combining it with a macrolide antibiotic.

It's possible that your shivers are caused by Bart but, maybe some of the Bart bugs are stuck in biofilm with Babesia bugs.

You know I think it's a good idea to treat for the "Big 3" (Lyme, Bart,Babs) only because they are very prevalent infections and it's possible to be asymptomatically infected yet have that asymptomatic infection impede healing from the "trouble-causing" infections.

I'm glad to hear you're taking Cryptolepis and Sida Acuta and suspect that would help prevent Artemisinin resistance.

Are you also taking Japanese Knotweed? Between its anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to clear neurotoxins, JK seems like a good "fit" as well.

Why not treat Babesia herbally to start and see where it takes you?

Why not treat Babesia herbally to start and see where it takes you? Well, I have been on Sida and Crypto for a long time. Crypto was suggested by my LLND in 2014...and except for a few breaks...I've been on it steady.

Girlie, I just posted a link to Buhner's 2013 conference notes and he says Art 7 days on, 7 days off pulsing program. I don't know if he has changed his mind on this.

Thanks, I did read that PeteZa. I have read several different pulsing of Art.

Dr. J - as usual - M/W/F - two weeks on, one week off.

And who was it on here...who did 7 -10 days straight of it? and then 3-4 weeks off. She did three rounds of it. I think it was Jackie Moon.

Dr. M.R. prescribes 3 days on and 11 days off.

OH-I remember now about the long Q syndrome...yes, I had irregular heartbeat brought on by a Z-pac that I took. I also had a super bad reaction last September when E.R. gave me a 7day course of Flagyl and cipro for a severe salmonella infection. It caused ligaments/joint inflammation....That's why I do herbals only. For some bizarre reason, i just CANNOT tolerate synthetic antibiotics.

It's not that the antibiotics are synthetic, your problem most likely occurs from too much die off and the inability to eliminate the toxins.

In his newer coinfection book that includes Babesia, Buhner is now recommending continuous dosing of Artemisinin for 30 days and no longer.

He says that pulsing will not make a difference with the enzyme the intestines produce when taking Artemisinin that reduces its effectiveness to something like 24%.

The whole Artemisinin topic made me nutz. Buhner's book that includes Babesa was published in 2015 and is based upon the latest studies. Yet, as Girlie has shared, some LLMD's pulse Artemisinin in much larger doses than Buhner recommends and Artemisinin is taken for a longer period of time.

Buhner cautions about neurotoxicity in those taking larger doses of Artemisinin for a year or longer...
